MyShell New Developments
According to news on February 16, MyShell announced a core protocol upgrade for its ShellAgent. The update highlights include: the official opening of the ShellAgent protocol for integration, enabling developers to build AI workflows without code using over 300 plug-and-play modules (widgets), instant messaging (IM) integration, and on-chain intelligent engine capabilities.
Introduction to MyShell
MyShell is a multi-modal robot creation platform based on the opBNB chain. Simply put, it is a fair and open-source AI ecosystem that encompasses a vast platform for creating AI agents and apps with both open-source and closed-source AI models. Creators can build applications and easily capture users. Its ecosystem includes robots such as OpenVoice (an instant voice-cloning program) and MeloTTS, a multi-language text-to-speech (TTS) library. Through sustainable economic incentives, MyShell fosters a harmonious coexistence of robot creation and consumption, empowering individuals to become super creators.
MyShell possesses core technologies in voice recognition and interaction. By adopting an open platform ecosystem built collaboratively by developers, MyShell reduces the cost of acquiring users and resources. Driven by its core technology and openness, MyShell is poised to make significant strides in the field of voice interaction in the future.
MyShell Team
Led by founders Rick and Ethan, both with over a decade of experience in the AI field, the MyShell team consists of around 10 members, primarily divided into four departments: technology, product, operations, and marketing. They all have extensive backgrounds in AI and graphics:
Ethan Sun, Co-founder of MyShell, graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. He has a deep background in AI and robotics research. As early as 2013, Ethan joined the graphics company founded by Rick (the other co-founder of MyShell), focusing on core algorithm development, laying a solid foundation for subsequent innovations.
Charles, Co-founder of MyShell, holds a Ph.D. from MIT, specializing in robotics and voice algorithm research. He has published over eight top-tier conference papers and has expertise in robotics, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
Rick, Co-founder of MyShell, has been committed to the AI and robotics industry for over a decade. Before founding MyShell, Rick worked with Ethan Sun in a company, leading the robotics product department.
MyShell Funding
On March 28, 2024, the decentralized AI content platform MyShell completed a $11 million Pre-A round led by Dragonfly, with participation from Delphi Digital, Bankless Ventures, Maven11 Capital, Nascent, Nomad, Foresight Ventures, Animoca Ventures, OKX Ventures, and others.
On October 16, 2023, the opBNB-based AI platform MyShell completed a $5.6 million seed round at a $57 million valuation, led by INCE Capital, with participation from HashKey Capital, Folius Ventures, SevenX Ventures, OP Crypto, and others.
MyShell Core Architecture
The MyShell ecosystem is built on three core components:
Self-developed Open-source AI Models: Utilizing voice synthesis technology, users can customize the voice style of robots, including text-to-speech, large language models, and multiple open-source AI models. Other existing technologies will also be gradually open-sourced.
Open AI Agent Development Platform: MyShell enables individuals to easily build AI agents. The platform allows creators to leverage different models and integrate external APIs, enabling third-party providers to offer services to developers.
Fair Value Distribution Ecosystem: MyShell's ecosystem incentive system aims to provide creators and users with incentives proportional to their contributions. Additionally, once the MyShell ecosystem integrates with permissionless blockchains to achieve global liquidity access, creators will receive broad returns, amplifying the potential of AI agents.
Summary of MyShell
The emergence of MyShell not only offers new choices for content creators but also provides new ideas for the traditional content industry's transition to the AI era. With the launch of SHELL, MyShell will continue to expand the boundaries of its decentralized AI ecosystem, promoting the popularization and innovation of AI technology. Ethan Sun and the team's efforts are gradually realizing their vision, encouraging more users, creators, and developers to participate in the wave of AI development and build a more open and transparent future.
