Gitcoin is a decentralized funding platform for open-source software. Users can support various decentralized open-source projects through Gitcoin, and early projects can also receive funding on Gitcoin to maintain operations. Some well-known projects such as Uniswap, 1inch, MaskNetwork, ENS, etc. have participated in Gitcoin Grants, so Gitcoin is also known as "Ethereum's arsenal".
In each of Gitcoin Grants Rounds, besides community funding, Gitcoin will also leverage the Quadratic Funding model to allocate funds from the Ethereum Foundation to high-quality projects. The acknowledgement from Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin has greatly promoted the community influence of Gitcoin Grants, which has been carried out for 14 rounds so far. While helping the project grow, it also brings the rewards opportunities for the contributors such as airdrops, and essentially serves as the gateway to Web3.
The newest round of Grants Round 15 (GR15) donations has kicked start from September 7 and will soon end in less than 3 days on September 22, 2022!
This guide provides an introduction to the Gitcoin Grants Round 15 and a selection of 16 high quality projects for your reference.
Intro to GR15
Donation Tips
Participation Guide
Selected Projects Overview

Over $2.8 million in total matching funds have already been committed across the Main Round ($500k), four Cause Rounds ($1M matching pool) & 13 Ecosystem Rounds ($1.3M+ matching pool).
The GR15 Cause Rounds showcase projects using web3 to build and fund solutions related to four key social and environmental causes: Climate Solutions, Crypto Advocacy, DEI (Diversity Equity & Inclusion), and [NEW!] DeSci (Decentralized Science).
Based on the previous rounds, Biteye has summarized the following donation Tips:
Although Gitcoin has no limit on the donation amount, the minimum amount of each project is preferably greater than 1U. On the other hand, due to the fluctuation of ETH price, DAI is a better choice of currency for donation.
Gitcoin donation is a good on-chain interaction behavior. Optimism once used "users make Gitcoin donations on the mainnet" as one of the weights of airdrops.
Gitcoin donations can be made through zkSync, which not only saves costs but also realizes the interaction of zkSync;
Donation should not be too late. It is easy to encounter network congestion when donating in the last few days, which lead to missing-out this round completely.
