Meta AI researchers are tending to show realization of their legs without additional tracking hardware.
The opening box is used and the current VR system tracks only the head and hand-department positions of the user. The location of the user’s stretches, drys and legs can be estimated using a method known as anti-movement (IK), but this is sometimes accurate only to the limits, with little correction of the leg. There are too many potential solutions for each set of positions of head and hand.
Given the limitations of IK, some of the VR applications today show only the user’s hands, and many applications offer only the first half of the user. PCVR trackers, such as HTC Vive Tracker, are used to track backed by the passenger VR, but buying sufficient tracers for physical tracking requires hundreds of dollars and most games are not supported.
Last September, the Meta AI researcher demonstrated a strengthened learning nerve network called Capim, which can estimate a reasonable whole-of-life balance using only the tracking data of the search 2 and its handcuffs. However, the delay in the search for Sim was 160 m2, exceeding 11 帧 under 72 Hz. It is suitable only for the legization of others, not for themselves, and does not refer to the performance or functioning of the system at the GPU.
In a new paper entitled “Avatars Grow Legs” (AGRoL), other Meta AI researchers and interns Yuming Du displayed a new approach, claiming that the methodology “achieves state-of-the-art performance” and that the calculation requirements were lower than those of previous AI. AGRoL is a proliferation model, as is the recent AI image generation system, such as Stable Diffusion and OpenAI DALL E.2.
Unlike other proliferation models and most AI research papers, researchers indicated that AGRoL “may operate in real time on NVIDIA V100”, operates at approximately 41 FPS. Although NVIDIA V100 is a GPU of $15,000, it is believed that, after several years of optimization, it will eventually operate on smart mobile phones. This is the case, for example, of voice identification and synthetic models used in Google Assistant and Siri.
Nevertheless, there is no indication that the body of AGRoL will soon appear in the Meta Quest product. Meta does declare that virtualization will be backed by legs this year, but it may be supported by less technologically advanced algorithms and only by others, rather than by their own.
