I call it “Driving through Nature’s Chaos”. For those of you not familiar with A.I art, here is a quick explanation.
A.I. Art is generated via prompts. Using mentioned phrases from the user, machine learning A.I. bots can generate an image
One of the popular platforms that can do this is DALL-E.
One can enter a prompt such as “Van Gogh painting of a panda riding a bike” and the A.I. will generate an art piece
There are some creative ways you can play with this once you learn the concept of prompts.
A.I. art has sparked conversations about replacing actual artists but we won’t get into that here
There is an art to creating prompts so try it out and see what you get!
My piece this week was created for the purpose of creating a banner for my socials and Twitch. The theme was “Nature is Chaos”. Simply typing this was not enough to create the image you see before you. I played with paint style (Van Gogh), and specificity ( F1 Car, City Skyline, etc.). I also used their “Outpaint” feature to build out an entire scene once I had one portion I was pleased with.
Let me know what you think!!
This week’s RAEs are brought to you by a book I’ve been reading, Atomic Habits. Habits are the byproduct of systems. Too often, we focus on the outcome/goals and not on improving our systems. This has been an important gem I have learned from my reading. The below points provide a framework for approaching your focus a little differently which is why I picked it as this week’s RAEs (Pages 50 -54)
As I mentioned earlier, habits are a byproduct of one’s system. Decisions have a problem phase and a solution phase
The book explains that the problem phase is the start of where habits are created. For example, when you see a Popeye’s Chicken, you now have the desire to eat chicken. This is known as the cue and craving resulting in the “problem” good or bad that needs to be solved
The next phase is the solution. Despite the habit being good or bad, we all have a response and a resulting “reward” that we have deemed satisfactory for the presented problem. In the same example, once you eat the chicken, the desire is solved
This cycle can influence our goals but can be considered independently meaning that regardless of your goals, your response mechanisms can create or destroy your ability to reach any goal
Next time you are thinking about a habit you’d like to break, consider the triggers and not the outcome. Focus on what is causing the craving. What can you change about it?
With this framework in place, you can start to train your habits appropriately. With the right habits in place, you will subconsciously move towards your goal.
In the spirit of art, this week’s tech exploration is Generative Art via Javascript code. I am an artist of the traditional sense but learning new ways to allow technology to take the reigns has been fun. With P5.js, one can write code to generate amazing works. Just search through sites like Youtube and Reddit for examples. This video is one example I hope to try in the near future. If you try it out, feel free to comment and let me know how it goes.
Below are two creative ideas I am looking to try as well (one day lol). Even if I don’t get to them, however, it’s still cool to share. The art of making Rugs is one that has become more accessible. DIY videos like the ones below showcase how this can be done. This first example is especially cool because it incorporates Augmented Reality. The second link shows how one can go from drawing to production.

Some cool tools I’ve gathered for the week
https://billo.app/ - Similar to Fivver, source creators for posting your products on social media
https://www.importyeti.com/ - Creating Merch for your brand, find the suppliers for products that are used by big brands of your choice
40Seventh.eth (🐧, 🐅) @Sidetrackd_
For this entry, I’d like to leave with my favorite song from Nas’ new album, King’s Disease 3.
Bonus Anime songs of the week - Both are from my favorite anime of all time, Samurai Champloo. These play in the final 2 episodes. For me, they speak to the bittersweet ending of the 3 travelers who came together for a single purpose only to go their separate ways once it was done. I’m simplifying the story line but just know I could go all day.
Until next time, keep on seeking balance! I should be starting my Twitch soon so follow me there as well!
