“They keep Black around the waist (waste), but don’t want to make us Senseis”
Keep your Composure because what you think about yourself is EVERYTHING and what everyone thinks about you is NOTHING! This week’s Random Act of Evolution goes back to Nas’ album King’s Disease 2. One of my favorite tracks on that album is “Composure”. At the end of that track, he featured a dialog from Shaka Senghor speaking on the power of not letting your previous life actions define you. Below is a TED Talk that Shaka was featured on as well highlighting the same.
His message in this video is important as he shares his transformation from being a convicted criminal to emerging from prison and being a vessel for this message and the difficulties of mass incarceration. Now, he has gone on to spread that word as a professor and public speaker.
This can be an inspiration for anyone. Your mind is a powerful vessel and what YOU CHOOSE TO BELIEVE has to be more important than what PEOPLE BELIEVE ABOUT YOU. Even if you have had some down periods, how you recover will not be by living in the negativity but rather by establishing a positive image/path for you to live in.
This week’s exploration takes us to the Metaverse platform of Spatial. Without having to pay for metaverse land, users/creators can spin up their own space and import their own virtual worlds. I’ve built a few spaces. Check them out here:
We choose to highlight Spatial this week because of the number of new features that have been added in the last 6 months. Ever since they partnered with Unity, the creation of the Creator Toolkit has allowed users to build and upload straight from Unity with a number of plug-and-play features like:
Interactive Objects
More expressions for Avatars
Templated Space Building
Quests Building AND
Visual Scripting
Check out the toolkit and get started with building your world today!!
With the 2023 Formula 1 season getting ready to start next week, this week’s Aesthetics goes back to black just like Mercedes’ new car for the season. Unlike their previous black cars, this car is only painted on the top side so the remaining is just the carbon body peering through. This creates a monochrome effect, especially with the minimal amount of other colors present. From a racing standpoint, this lack of paint should contribute to a bit of saving on speed and we’re looking forward to how their season plays out. Let’s go LH 44!

Esco in the House!!! After recently releasing his album KD 3. He felt it would be a great follow-up to collaborate with TreyFive on a one-off track, KDTreyFive combining their narrative. Below, he shares what it was like to work together.

“Working with TreyFive”
“Collaborating with TreyFive, it's like being in the zone The way he approaches the mic. He's focused, he's precise, he knows what he wants to say and with every word he spits, it's like poetry in its own way. On the court, he’s a basketball wizard, putting everything to shame and when he steps to the mic, he's like a different kind of beast, he's got the rhythm and the flow. It's dope to be in the studio with him, that passion for the craft, it's like nothing else can be deeper”

Two months into 2023, we finally have our first rap album worth checking out. College Park from Logic takes listeners back in time before his debut album. This project is laced with skits that revisit what it was like for Logic and his Rattpack crew to be coming up together in the city of Gaithersburg, MD. One stand-out track is Clone Wars III where Logic discusses the struggles of emulating his idols at the risk of his own identity. Check it out!
Enjoy!
Until next time, keep on seeking balance!
