Weight of the world on my shoulders
“I’m Free”. These were the words uttered by Franklin Saint to his friend Leon in the last scene of the final episode of Snowfall a couple of weeks ago. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it was slightly inspired by the life of Freeway Ricky Ross. Played by Damson Idris, Franklin was a character of Wit who always found a way of orchestrating a plan to a Tee.

From a younging, he was a quick learner but his turn into the drug game tells the story of someone who turned machine and lost human. From working with the CIA early on, Franklin was a hell of a point guard putting plays up for everyone. The duality of this comes with an arrogance that everyone owes you one. True or not, once things start getting taken from you, it can drive you to ends meet to get back what you rightfully deem as yours. This was the downfall of Franklin Saint. He was a machine that put made sure the CIA (Teddy) was secured as they spilled their drugs into the hood. He also created opportunities for his mom and family. Everyone was eating but once Teddy pulled the rug and the tables turned, the pawn-turned-kingpin now had a point to prove.
Though I agree with Franklin on what is owed to you, we all know the story of the one who takes the bullet for the rest of the crew, he/she is usually the one with the most risk to bear. His family and friends tried to pull him out early but the machine has no off button. That drive created delusion and broke Franklin at the end when his mom killed Teddy as he was about to transfer the money he stole back to Franklin. A well-devised plan was thwarted by his mom.
When we make plans, God laughs. His mom knew that Franklin receiving the end of the fight. Figuring she could take the fall, she sacrificed herself so Franklin could live. Though he didn’t see this, he finally understood at the end when he said he was FREE. Free from the clasps of being that machine that had to carry the weight. Free to explore a new.
This week, I got a special delivery from BB3 Labs, Billionaire Boys Club Web 3 brand. The brand owned by Pharrell is a well-known streetwear brand today that has mastered the idea of community. Partnering with IYK, they are providing more utility for their community with NFT-tagged clothing.

IYK is looking to extend physical products with NFT enable NFC tags. Check out the video below. Essentially, this shirt is now a piece of technology that solves a number of use cases. The first one which is also highlighted in the video is verifying authenticity. As I mentioned each shirt comes with an NFT that only be accessed from the shirt itself. Even if you copy the link, it dies after 5 mins or so and needs to be refreshed from the shirt itself. This is big for the resale markets. Secondary markets can verify origination and allow for that to be passed on. Once an article is repurchased, the new owner can automatically claim the NFT from the previous owner.
The other use case I have in mind is that merch can now be the key to unlocking more experiences. The journey of a shirt can extend even further past just being worn. With the ability to tie web experiences behind tags, this shirt could be your tickets to get into a concert or any other exclusive event. These are some surface ideas I started to consider but you better believe I have some more ideas cooking up. What would you design?
Hebru Brantley is one of my favorite artists today and I still don’t have any of his work. Peep the Wave God below.

One tool that I have still yet to dig my hands into is Runway. That will all change in the coming weeks as I am planning to shoot a trailer for something coming soon. (It’s a secret!). In the meantime, try out the mobile app for yourself.
Runway - Adding A.I to your videos have just gotten easier now that Runway is available on Mobile.
Ever wonder how much work goes into prepping the car right before a F1 Race? King invited us into the paddock to get that answer. We learned that there are a lot of influences including the up-to-date weather that can make a difference. A slight temperature change on the track could call for an immediate change in the car setup. Let’s hear from King himself on the rest.

“Race Prep” - King
“The preparation done on the car before a race is absolutely critical. Every aspect of the car is inspected, fine-tuned, and optimized to ensure that it performs at its very best on race day.
First and foremost, the mechanics and engineers on my team will thoroughly inspect every component of the car, from the engine to the suspension, to make sure that everything is in top working order. They'll check for any signs of wear or damage, and replace or repair anything that needs attention.
Next, we'll focus on the setup of the car. This involves adjusting things like the suspension, tire pressures, and aerodynamics to suit the specific demands of the race track we're competing on. We'll analyze data from practice sessions and qualifying to determine the optimal setup for the car, and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that it handles as well as possible.
Of course, we can't forget about the tires. Before each race, we'll select the type of tire that we believe will be best suited for the conditions, whether that's a soft compound for extra grip or a harder compound for increased durability. We'll also make sure that the tires are properly inflated and aligned, so that they wear evenly and provide the best possible performance throughout the race.
Finally, we'll perform a series of checks and tests to make sure that everything is functioning as it should. We'll simulate race conditions in the garage, testing the car's brakes, gearbox, and other critical systems to ensure that they're working flawlessly.
By the time we're done with all of this preparation, the car will be finely tuned and ready to take on the challenges of the race ahead. And as a driver, I'll be able to push the car to its limits with confidence, knowing that every aspect of it has been optimized for peak performance.”

We have 2 tracks this week straight outta the Rising Sun. Two of my favorite Japanese MCs, Rykey and Tsubaki, dropped the music video for GOD. This song came out last year but seeing the video made the song feel new again. Check out.
Second, we have another group which is actually from Japan but they live in South Korea. XG’s Shooting Star is their latest release. As I have come to learn about this group, they got some fun raps and they even done with Ciara. Check out Shooting Star below!
Enjoy!
Until next time, keep on seeking balance!
