Pave the Road for Others
This week is the last session from Lewis Hamilton’s Masterclass on a “Winning Mindset”. After achieving a winning mindset, you have an opportunity to pay it forward.
Week 12- Pave the Road for Others
Question things around you
Look for opportunities to share the spotlight
This week we wanted to talk about customer validation. As we are building an app, we are learning that our beloved idea may not directly solve our potential customer’s real problem.
Building an app can cost north of $10,000 and not having it sell can deflate all you thought you were solving.
Rather than doing that, why not do the customer validation? This gives you immediate confirmation from the market
In practice, this looks like getting a bunch of customers in a room and identifying the vision of what the app could be. From this, you can then create your MVP - simple validation of value exchange. Though it may transform it a bit, it will be more accepted.
Below are some additional benefits.
Great customer validation allows your early adopters to feel like they helped bring the app to life
Not only that, you can identify a good price for monetization by honing in on the ROI of solving their issues.
That ability to monetize can also be immediate because of the validation
Lastly, you are not wasting time and resources in the beginning on features that won’t be used or monetized immediately.
Overall, this is a critical part of the process. This is the next step for our app as well. Prove a hypothesis (w/ minimal tech) then raise funds to scale. This will interest investors, even more, to know that you did a lot with little.
This week’s Aesthetics goes back to the first Gen AI art piece I created. I made this in DALL-E. It is the first piece in my curated collection known as “It started with Her.” You can see the entire collection here.

As I am on my journey to build my app, I recently took a class where I learned about FlutterFlow, a no-code platform.
Unlike other no-code platforms (Bubble, Webflow), FlutterFlow is built primarily for mobile app dev and can publish straight to the stores. Additionally, you are not restricted to the platform so you can download your code and get more in the weeds. I plan on doing a deep dive and I will share that as well
Tazuki is here with us today to share her story and how she passed the time while undergoing life-changing surgery. The Great Fires of Hawaii changed the landscape of everyone there. Rebuilding ushered in a new era of tech and industrialism hence the cyberpunk atmosphere. Luckily for Tazuki, her family were engineers of this new tech. While she was in the hospital, she would make Origami cranes. Today, she is here to share how that helped her cope.

“Making Cranes ease the pain” - Tazuki
“
Mindfulness and Focus: Origami requires your full attention and concentration, which can help redirect your thoughts away from stressors and into the present moment. This focus on the task at hand can create a sense of mindfulness, allowing you to temporarily let go of worries.
Routine and Repetition: The repetitive nature of folding paper into the same pattern can have a soothing effect on your mind. Engaging in a rhythmic and predictable motion can help calm your nervous system and reduce anxiety.
Creativity and Accomplishment: Engaging in a creative activity like origami allows you to express yourself and tap into your artistic side. As you successfully create each crane, you experience a sense of accomplishment and pride, boosting your mood and self-esteem.
Sensory Engagement: The tactile sensation of folding paper and seeing it transform into a recognizable shape can be satisfying and pleasurable. Engaging multiple senses—touch, sight, and even sound—can help distract from stress and promote relaxation.
Escape and Distraction: Engaging in a hands-on activity like origami can serve as a healthy distraction from overwhelming thoughts and stressors. It gives you a break from rumination and helps shift your focus to something positive and enjoyable.
Physical Benefits: The fine motor skills required for origami can engage different areas of your brain and promote coordination. This can contribute to a sense of engagement and help redirect your thoughts away from stress.
Sense of Control: When you're feeling stressed, it's common to feel a lack of control over your circumstances. Origami provides a sense of control as you create something beautiful and intricate from a simple sheet of paper. This can help counter feelings of helplessness.”

This week’s vibe is from Victoria Monet. I love the Jaguar album but I don’t listen to it enough. Forgetting about this track, I was reminded of it when I was at a lounge this past week. Songs like this intrigue me because I love the soft, sensuality and it feels like they are talking to me. However, upon watching the video, I just realized the lyrics were referencing a girl. Nonetheless, it is still a vibe!
Enjoy!
Until next time, keep on seeking balance!
