This sums up the journey I had set out on when I started writing 7 weeks ago. I have always been eager to learn but not having a platform to organize my thoughts has allowed me to develop a habit of starting and stopping different ideas. This blog is less about the audience and more about me building a catalog of content ensuring that the collected knowledge is focused. Writing isn’t the only new thing I started. Every Friday, I have my “Tech Fridays” sessions. I take time to read and take notes on all of the items I found interesting that week. I don’t publish these but feel free to comment if you’d like a copy!
The number one benefit I’ve seen from this is the increase in creativity and purpose. When I can find tools and leverage them for content, it creates structure and intent. Now, I am constantly thinking about the bigger picture and potential direction rather than just collecting “Bookmarks”. I still have a platform for just links, hence “Chaotic Explorations” below. Even if I don’t get to them all, one of these links may help a reader so I’m happy to be that catalyst.
As I head into 2023, I plan to keep this going and challenge myself further on what I can create.
Looking to expand your business into Web 3 but don’t know where to start, I built the following guide/exercise to help you evaluate where you could get started. Below is an example of the mind-mapping exercise to get the ideas flowing. I have divided it into 3 areas:
Foundational
Customer & Partner Rewards/Loyalty
Advanced Business Value
Before we get into this, I’d like to quickly review the definition of Web 3 - The internet of ownership. This is simply another way to bring your brand closer to its network including partners and customers. There are new avenues to bring them in and “drive co-ownership” but for your brand, you the business owner, I’ll be sure to highlight how this adds value to you as well. To those questioning the need for some of these tools, I understand - Can’t I just start a regular loyalty program? Why do I need to know about this? These are all valid questions. Just like the impact of E-Commerce and Social Media to Brick and Mortar businesses, the answer will reveal itself as adoption prevails and digital presence continues to drive the relevancy of your business. Why not get ahead of it now? With that said, Let’s get started!!
Note: Outside of Foundational, the segments are not arranged in any order. You can get started anywhere you like.
Education - Let’s start with Education. This is a new space for most and what better way to onboard than providing education? This can be done from a few angles.
One - What is Web3/NFTs/Blockchain? - Providing the space for people to learn is key. It creates a relationship with your community that your brand is willing to teach and equip the members with the keys they need to be successful in this space. What can be scary at first can now be digestible and establishes your brand as the origin story for folks. Even if you are unable to teach directly, you can always partner with the right educators
Two - Industry Education - This is an opportunity to peel back the curtain on what you do and how you’ve managed to become successful. Bring your members into the history of your brand. NFT Holders can gain exposure to exclusive BTS content. They can feel more connected to the brand’s future decisions knowing now where the train of thought is originating from. Content is King in this space and establishing that journey with your community members helps build brand equity and allows them to feel like they could get started on their own journey as well
Three - Smaller item but the cascading effect of bringing like-minded people together is the ability to network. NFT Holders can start to build relationships with each other therefore furthering the value
Showroom/Showcase - There are a couple of ways this can play out.
One - When you start to survey the current space of NFTs, art has emerged at the forefront. So what if art is not your thing? There is still a play for you. Take a look at the following credit cards:
Both are Black AMEX cards but one is from a series designed by Kehinde Wiley. Wiley is a prominent African American artist who is known for his paintings of Barack Obama as well as others.

Came across this dope NFT Generative Art Project called Generative Mask. I am currently doing a deep dive into Generative Art and how code can be used to create these wonders. I will definitely be sharing my findings and what I end up creating.
Below are some resources I have been using to learn how to code:
Learn how to code Blockchain Dapps; I’ve been using this to get a foundational understanding of how ERC-721s works
Library of code project curriculums; I’ve been using this to learn how to use p5.js, one of the main libraries for Generative Art.
Last week, we shared a video from Barack Obama discussing the dangers of the “woke” culture and the rise in polarizing social media. Coming off that, Monroe wanted to come in and share her thoughts on the recent video from Michelle Obama and how it is important to work through the ups and downs of a relationship
Monroe - Here are 5 things on a list of many that you can do to maintain a long-lasting relationship.
Communicate openly and honestly with your partner: It's important to be able to express your thoughts and feelings to your partner and to listen actively and empathetically to what they have to say.
Show appreciation and gratitude towards your partner: Make an effort to regularly express your appreciation and gratitude towards your partner. This can help to strengthen your bond and improve your relationship.
Make time for each other: It's important to make time for your partner and prioritize your relationship, even when life gets busy. This could involve setting aside regular date nights or simply making an effort to spend quality time together.
Practice forgiveness: No relationship is perfect, and conflicts and misunderstandings are a normal part of any relationship. It's important to be able to forgive your partner when they make mistakes and to work together to resolve conflicts in a healthy way.
Seek support when needed: If you are struggling with issues in your relationship, it can be helpful to seek support from a therapist or counselor. This can provide a safe and neutral space to work through any challenges you may be facing.

Still bumping the new Ab-Soul album. I think this might be my favorite song on the album… at least for now!!
Enjoy!
Until next time, keep on seeking balance!

Doing this immediately brings attention/value to the artist and again establishes your brand as one that is opening the door to share brand equity. Leveraging smart contracts, the artist can continue to gain royalties into perpetuity of the sales. The ability to curate art is now an option for transforming what could be basic membership NFTs into art-valued membership NFTs. Furthermore, it gives your brand something to showcase and start cultivating artist talent especially if you didn’t start in the arts.
Two - Coming off this first point, a network of artists and like-minded collectors can also immediately show off their collections to each other. This quickly leads to their next tier of value - Customer & Partner Rewards/Loyalty
