Diana Niad, 61, will spend 60 hours crossing the 166-kilometer Florida Strait.
In order to ensure the truth of the results, Niad did not wear a cold swimsuit. During the crossing, she was not allowed to touch the kayak, nor could she rely on support personnel. The crossing is not over until Nyad walks through the mangroves along the coast and onto land. There are often sharks in this sea area, but she did not use a shark-proof cage to defend herself.

When Niad first entered the sea, it was only a gentle breeze. Unexpectedly, after two hours, the sea began to gust. The resistance of the wind and waves in the water is increasing, and the temperature drops sharply. An hour later, the pain in the right shoulder started to worsen. She gritted her teeth, an uncompromising faith in her heart.
Another 18 hours passed, and an asthma attack occurred. To relieve shoulder pain and ease breathing, give up the familiar freestyle and switch to breaststroke. Asthma made her breathing more and more difficult, and she asked the doctor to jump into the sea and put her on a respirator...

However, the wind was getting stronger and stronger, her shoulders were hurting more and more, and she was in unbearable pain. After battling her asthma for 11 hours, Nyad was shivering in the sea, almost exhausted by the strong winds. After battling the rough Florida Straits for nearly 30 hours, Niad finally boarded the ship due to physical exhaustion and gave up the crossing.
When she stepped on the beach, facing the reporters and "fans" who greeted her, Niad covered her face and wept.

Her ambitions were not fulfilled, but her ambitions were not compromised. Not only did she get people's understanding, but she also won more enthusiastic cheers than she imagined. Her unrelenting 30 hours not only embodies the youthful pride and courage of an old woman, but also inspires those who are in their prime to live with passion.
