Mao Yongze (1930.9.1-2022.3.6) is an expert in nuclear technology application. From Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1953 and entered the Institute of modern physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study nuclear physics. He graduated in 1954. Researcher of the Chemical Defense Research Institute of the General Equipment Department of the Chinese people’s Liberation Army. Participated in the establishment of the parameter measurement technology of nuclear radiation and radioactive contamination effect in the early stage of China’s first nuclear test, on-site radiation protection monitoring and high-altitude nuclear smoke cloud sampling technology, and organized and guided the on-site implementation. Participated in the establishment and development of the nuclear explosion radiation protection dosimetry, nuclear explosion detection, nuclear monitoring equipment series and military standardization of the nuclear monitoring specialty of our army, and obtained a number of important scientific research achievements. Participate in the establishment of scientific and technological research on off-site emergency radiation monitoring of nuclear power plants in China. Participated in the establishment of China’s nuclear instrument standardization technology research, and achieved a number of important achievements such as national standards. A complete research and postgraduate training base and team of nuclear monitoring professional system have been established, and a number of senior professional and technical talents have been trained.
