In the fast-paced world of NFTs, where floor prices rise and fall and new projects launch daily, it’s easy to lose sight of the real-world impact these digital communities can create. But Typical Tigers isn’t your typical NFT project. Since its inception in 2021, this project has been laser-focused on one mission: saving tigers from extinction.
“When the project was created in 2021, the whole mission was to raise money to save tigers from becoming extinct. That’s it. Simple. Real.”
For the team behind Typical Tigers, it all comes down to perspective. “All of us are lucky enough to have ‘spare’ money to degen in Web3,” they say, “but many starve, and we are destroying our planet. If we are in a position to help in any way, we should.”

NFTs and Web3 have become the ultimate amplifier for their cause. Without these tools, Typical Tigers admits, their reach and impact would be a fraction of what they are today.
“Without the project and the Web3 audience, we wouldn’t have been able to raise even 10% of what we have. It’s the community that has made it possible.”
And that community has delivered. Typical Tigers has already donated over $34,000 to save wild tigers and has 23,000 APE more pledged and ready to deploy. Their efforts have tangible results: just last year, they provided 160 sets of clothing and equipment to anti-poaching patrols in India.
“Those are real boots on the ground. Real people protecting real tigers. That’s the difference this community makes.”
So what is it about NFTs that drive people to rally around causes like this? According to Typical Tigers, it’s all about family and gratitude.
“The feeling of family and community is one major factor. The second is the feeling of being lucky and grateful for what Web3 has given them, and wanting to give back and do something good.”
This ethos has shaped their approach to long-term engagement. Beyond the initial mint hype, they keep the energy alive through weekly Twitter Spaces every Tuesday at 3pm EST, and a live charity feed piped directly into their Discord, so holders can see updates in real-time.
“Our passive staking system means we provide utility that’s as good as, if not better, than many projects without a charity aspect at all. You can degen and do good at the same time.”

Typical Tigers' journey wouldn’t be complete without the influence of BAYC and Apechain. A pivotal moment came at Apefest Lisbon, which led them to launch on Apechain—a move that has expanded their visibility and community.
“We wouldn’t have launched on Apechain if I hadn’t attended Apefest Lisbon. That event opened doors.”

While they haven’t received financial support, the exposure through retweets, spaces, and articles has been invaluable.
“Support comes in many forms. Every RT, every mention, every new follower—those are seeds that grow awareness.”
Looking ahead, the Tigers are preparing to build out their Jungle Otherdeed, deploy a 3D Tiger avatar, and integrate donation features through Apechain platforms. They're also eyeing partnerships to make donating to tiger charities via ApeCoin seamless.
“Imagine an onboarding button on the MBA Bodega site to buy ApeCoin and donate directly to save tigers. That’s the future we’re building towards.”
For Typical Tigers, some of the most meaningful moments have been personal—seeing OG holders return to Web3 because of their project.
“Getting messages from OG holders who left Web3 but came back to support the Tigers and Apechain because of us—that’s huge. That’s why we keep going.”
As the NFT space matures, Typical Tigers sees itself as a beacon for what charity-driven projects can achieve.
“We’re an OG project with a proven track record of honesty and donations. When the next Web3 boom comes, I want Typical Tigers to be one of the first names people think of when it comes to charity projects.”
Running a charity-focused NFT project isn’t without its challenges, but Typical Tigers keeps it simple by partnering with globally recognized charities.
“We send funds directly to trusted organizations. They give us updates from the ground, so we stay focused on impact without needing to fly to India to inspect ourselves.”
When asked what they’ve learned about community through this journey, the answer is pure and simple:
“Tigers protect their family. ❤️”

If there’s one message they want to send to their holders, supporters, and the broader BAYC and Apechain community, it’s this:
“We’re only getting started. Buy, hold, and hodl our NFTs. Earn tiger tokens to enter raffles and buy items in our store—all while making sure a species doesn’t go extinct. It makes a real difference, and you can be part of it.”
Typical Tigers proves that being a degen and being a conservationist aren’t mutually exclusive. In fact, they’re building a future where they go hand in paw.

Stay Bored.
