What started as a character concept has grown into a full-blown world. A game. A community. A culture. All led by founder mmwalk, a long-time BAYC member and marketing brain behind several other successful Web3 initiatives and brought to life visually by the ridiculously talented Jetpunch. In a world where algorithms increasingly shape what we see and how we create, one artist is using code and memory to bring vivid emotion to the blockchain. Meet the mind behind ValleA, a generative on-chain art project that has captivated early ApeChain collectors not just with its intricate beauty—but with its soul.
From Photoshop to ApeChain
“I’ve always been drawn to art,” the artist behind ValleA shares, “even if I kept it more as a passion than a profession.” Like many digital creatives, their first spark ignited with Photoshop. That spark turned into a slow-burning flame fueled by photo editing, video, 3D modeling, and storytelling. But it wasn’t until the rise of Web3 and collections like BAYC that the flame roared into a fire.
It was the launch of ApeChain, combined with a long-held artistic vision, that finally convinced this creator to embrace generative art fully. “It felt like a breath of fresh air in a space that had started to stagnate,” they said. “When you find a chain that feels alive—not just technically, but socially—it becomes the perfect home for a project like ValleA.”

Etching Emotion Into the Blockchain
What separates ValleA from other generative projects isn’t just the visuals—it’s the origin story. Born in the layered hills and misty valleys of Northern Italy, the art channels a deep sense of place and personal memory.
“Fog would often drift between the hills, turning the view into something emotional: sometimes peaceful, sometimes melancholic or even haunting,” they explained. “With ValleA, I wanted to translate those sensations… It’s my way of turning memory into structure.”
The result? A collection that evokes soundwaves, heartbeats, weather patterns, and more—depending on who’s looking. “Only one person has guessed the real source, but that’s the beauty of art: it reflects who we are.”

A Dance Between Code and Care
While the algorithm behind ValleA had help from AI, the soul of the work is entirely human. “The vision, the concept, the refinement? That was all me,” the artist emphasizes. They poured themselves into balancing randomness with control—carefully calibrating color palettes, line densities, and spatial rhythms.
“It became a game of trial and error,” they said. “Sometimes exhausting, but necessary to reach my vision.”
Artists like Tyler Hobbs (Fidenza) and Matt DesLauriers (Meridian) were major influences. “Their work showed me how structure and randomness could co-exist. That became my north star.”

Art for the Blockchain Age
On-chain generative art isn’t just technically exciting—it’s deeply philosophical for this creator. “The idea of leaving a permanent, digital fingerprint… something that’s both immutable and expressive, is powerful,” they reflect. “It’s like etching your work into a collective memory that doesn’t fade.”
That’s where ApeChain becomes more than infrastructure. It becomes community.
“Having art fully on-chain here means being part of a movement from day one,” they explained. “Collectors aren’t just buyers—they’re witnesses to its genesis.”
Being part of BAYC since May 1st, 2021, gave this artist a front-row seat to the rise of generative PFPs, collaboration, and creative boldness. “BAYC didn’t shape my artistic vision… what’s in my head is too stubborn to be tamed,” they joked. “But it gave me the confidence and the network to try bold ideas.”
A Vision for the Future
Even though ValleA launched as a free mint, every piece was claimed—a testament to the momentum this project has built in the ApeChain space. “Hearing collectors say things like ‘Finally, art I’d actually hang on my wall’… that’s the kind of feedback that stays with you.”
And the vision doesn’t stop at the screen.
“One dream is to pair the collection with 1000 micro-stories, and publish it as a book,” they revealed. “Generative art should reach beyond the niche. It should touch lives.”
To Artists Just Starting Out:
If you're an aspiring artist with an eye on on-chain creation, their advice is simple: “Show up.”
“Don’t be afraid to reach out. Join Spaces, connect with projects already thriving on ApeChain. Everyone (and I mean everyone) is open to hearing your story and lending a hand. This chain rewards participation and courage. Show up, and doors will open.”

ValleA isn’t just a collection—it’s a landscape of memory, emotion, and precision. In a time when art can be ephemeral, ValleA stands as a coded monument to the places that shape us, the communities that support us, and the permanence of creativity on-chain.
