BrightID dev @billyjitsu has been strolling around ETHDenver. That was quite a challenge now and than. It really was the largest one ever and places were packed with people. There were many good talks spread around the different locations. So many that you were bound to miss some. Quite a few people were interested in BrightID and overall it was great to see a lot of people ambitious for the space promoting public goods and working on them.

Manna is a universal basic income (UBI) for everybody. It is one of the first UBI systems to make use of the blockchain to distribute income. The first version of Manna had been running successfully for quite some time, but grinded to a halt because of sybil attacks. Too many people were trying to make duplicate fake accounts. So the team went back to the drawing board and came up with Manna version 2 that uses BrightID to make sure that one person can create only one account to receive Manna.

To receive Manna you have to go through several steps. You will need a Metamask wallet and you have to use the BrightID app to obtain a bitu score of at least 1. You can learn more about Bitu and how to get verified by reading the medium article from Yazdani . Then you can connect with the Manna app on the website Mannabase.com to claim your Manna. It’s a bit of an effort but give it a try for sure.

In the AMA of March 3rd Victor told us all about the Discord Unique bot. The Unique Bot is a great way to combat bots and spam in Discord. With the bot you can make sure that access to a Discord channel is restricted to verified users. This is very useful when you want to hold a poll for example.

The Discord Unique Bot has become popular really quickly. It’s already used on dozens of Discord servers. It’s very easy to set up. If you want it on your server go to bot.brightid.org At the moment Victor is ironing out some minor bugs. On the roadmap are some interesting new features, like combining a discord role with a multisig.

This month, Gitcoin is kicking off its biggest funding round ever. There is $1.2 million in matching funds available in the main round. Special cause rounds in Round 13 are Climate Solutions, Longevity, and Support for Ukraine.
