Finding what works is often more difficult than we think at the start of a project.
It takes an exiting idea, curiosity, tenacity, enthusiasm, good will, caring, infrastructure, strategy; and if we really want to give it our all, strategic empathy.
Most web3 communities start with an exciting idea, lots of enthusiasm and good will. The problem with these three is that they require a lot of energy, and once that energy is gone we donโt have any left to find what actually works.
And so we get stuck. The wheels spin, trying desperately to keep the excitement up - but itโs not going anywhere.
Before we can find what works, we need to understand a specific change that we are seeking to make together. If there is buy-in, this creates the sense of shared ownership.
If people own the journey, and care enough about the outcome then the stops and starts on finding what works becomes part of the journey. Not frustrating pitfalls to avoid.
Some communities find what works right out of the gate, and others night take years.
If youโre with the right group of people either could be a lot of fun.
