My favorite part about working in web3 is the community. Collaborating with curious, intelligent and insightful people from all over the world daily is a treat. **
**During one of our mClub leadership calls this week @NatalieCrue said “let’s move at the pace of community, not web3.”
This resonated deeply with me. It shines light on a paradox I have been feeling over the last few months: the speed of decentralized organic growth and the speed of tech movements are very different.
Expecting a community designed for safety and belonging to keep up with every single meme or tech trend in the always web3 world will only lead to misalignment, confusion and burnout.
This leaves us with two choices:
Prioritize keeping up with the tech.
Prioritize cultivating the community.
Of course we don’t have to pick one or the other, however the one we pick will significantly affect the other. **
An obvious suggestion then: prioritize cultivating the community.

PS. I’m running an open source tool experiment called the DAO Design Canvas. It exists for DAO creators like us, who want to create meaningful experiences for our contributors. Learn more here.
