Normally, we take events that unfold in our lives as good or bad. We celebrate the good and if possible, ignore the bad.

But this stance puts us at a disadvantage. Especially for DAO operators who are seeking to make a positive change in the world.

‘Bad’ events are nothing but stories we tell ourselves; such as bear markets, hacks, bad votes, tools crashing, community breakdown. But these are just stories that have as much power as we give them.

‘Good’ events like bull markets, successful votes, a happy community and so forth are also nothing more than stories.

Usually bad events take energy from us and good events give us energy to keep going.

But if some of these events are out of our control, and are at the same time responsible for how much energy we have, we are not optimized for sustainability.

However, when we see events as neither good or bad, but as a challenge, we can take back control of where we get our energy from. No matter what the outcome of a challenge, it makes the challenger stronger.
