To the action obsessed, patience might look a lot like dawdling.
“Why aren’t they the members moving faster?”
”Why doesn’t the core team just do something?” ”Why are they just hanging out?”
When we are hooked on the idea that our state of mind is right, that puts everyone else’s mind at odds with ours. This can cause resentment and confusion.
Resentment and confusion is no way to cultivate meaningful experiences for people that want to make their lives better.
In fact, I would assert that now is the time to move slow - if we want to build something sustainable.
Getting to know each other to foster empathy, isn’t dawdling.
Understanding the needs and desires of our ideal members, isn’t dawdling.
Developing a solution that creates transformation, isn’t dawdling.
It’s patience. It’s strategy.
And if we have the expendable income to make web3 a hobby, and if we care about making people’s lives better, we owe it to ourselves and them to be patient.
A ‘bias towards action’ is only viable and sustainable if there is a strong purpose that galvanizes everyone’s actions to move us to our north star.
Otherwise we’re just action obsessed.
