DAO’s are not perfect. They are far from it.
From popular zeitgeist it seems the perfect DAO will have no vulnerabilities - smart contacts would make everything trustless and secure. They would be highly efficient - cold and calculated. Contributors would know exactly what to do and compensation models would be flawless.
If this is a ‘perfect’ DAO, I’m afraid we will be waiting around forever.
In fact it sounds a lot like working for a bank (which I did, and hated).
The working utopia we are seeking in DAOs does not exist. The reason it does not exist is because we are always going to need people to work in these organizations. And people are not perfect.
People are subjective, opinionated, inconsistent, irrational, and really good at creating meaningful change in the right context.
Put these imperfect people into a DAO with a culture that is uplifting, inspirational, open and seeking to do something incredible and you will not have a “perfect” DAO.
You will have a DAO that is imperfectly perfect.
And that we can start building right now.
