This is a simple questions that is convenient to ignore.
And with DAOs it’s more important to consider than ever.
DAOs are ecosystems filled with members that act; they will hopefully interact, engage and contribute towards helping the DAO reach its north star. These actions are tiny moments of becoming. The more interactions happen the more quickly the becoming happens.
The question is, are we designing these actions to be aligned with what the member wants to become and where the DAO wants to go?
Actions that move the DAO to its north start at hyper speed, but ignore the journey of becoming that the members undergo, might look good on paper but is not sustainable.
On the other hand.
Designing a culture where actions prioritize the journey of becoming for members and align that journey with the north star might feel slow and not-sexy…but it will create more loyalty, belonging and more FUN than you can imagine.
First, we must ask ourselves, who do they want to become?
