My word for the month of October is ~~momentum, gifted to me by @thecurioushermit . It was spooky when Gwynne said that because... I had already been thinking of working with Momentum for a while. So I knew immediately it was right for this current chapter of my life and it was time to give it proper attention.
For me, the idea of momentum was always attached to increasing speed. It was almost as life picking up momentum was some sort of external confirmation that things were on the right track. I'm going places, and getting there faster. Right?
Thing is, the definition of momentum has nothing to do with that. According to the dictionary, it is simply the force that keeps an object moving. So this time around, I'll focus on the keep going part of the equation, and decouple it from any expectations around its speed.
This October, I'll focus on what keeps me going - in small, incremental steps - and observe how that compounds over time. It's likely to change over the course of the month, but I'm thinking I will:
-do a short mobility practice every morning
-keep my streak going here in the /slowcare-hq channel on Farcaster
-reflect and journal on where I want this momentum to take me (I'm navigating a potential career pivot)

I'm excited to see what will come out of this new approach to momentum. I expect it to be nourishing in ways that speed has never allowed me before. Come November, will I be transformed, virtually at the same spot or a secret third thing? I'm excited to wait and see!
