Initially we want to try and raise development funds through the sale of pieces on OpenSea.
More importantly we want to start a community of people that are interested and excited about what we are proposing to do with this project.
Each piece in the collection will be bound directly to a corresponding number of saplings and by extension the $BÚAN token. Once the saplings are planted a $BÚAN holder will be able to stake it to benefit from the carbon that is embedded in them as they grow.
We want to create a direct relationship between the pieces that people buy and the forest itself based on how everything comes together to react with $BÚAN. You will be able to stake and collect the carbon offsets that the underlying real world natural assets embody as they grow.
This time next year we will have planted our first forest. By this time the year after that we hope to have started planting the next forest and so on. We will also look to diversify into other habitats such as raised bogs that are an incredibly important means of natural carbon sequestration.
This first round of fund raising will allow us to develop our approach. We want to secure at least ten hectares of land and populate it with seedlings of native broad leaf species. Once we have established our first forest we will have it certified to make it investible by businesses and individuals looking to offset their carbon emissions. Sustainability reporting standards require the development of robust metrics and verification practices which will help inform the development of $BÚAN and the staking process.
Ultimately we want $BÚAN to be the cornerstone of a massively scalable funding solution with Blockchain technology enabling tangible benefits to flow back to stakeholders frictionlessly. A mechanism to enable the prolific expansion of resilient, productive and bio-diverse ecosystems.
The very definition of sustainability seems inadequate; “..meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” .. this should only be the starting point.
We need to be creating a more resilient and biodiverse planet than the one we started out with when we were born - we hope that this is a goal you share with us and will support.

There are 33 pieces in our first collection priced at .333 ETH each based on the 3300 trees per hectare required for afforestation of a green field site.
