A recent article in the Chinese social media, highlighted a man who remained calm while driving his car even when hundreds of honeybees swarmed above his head. Apparently, bees have built a hive inside his car. Millions of Chinese marveled at the coolness of this man who calmly drives on, unconcerned about the swarming bees on his head.
Some people in China believe a bee visiting your house is auspicious, prompting the driver to exclaim:’ I am going to be rich!’
Scripture tells us,” Both riches and honor come from God, and the Lord rule over all…. (1 Chronicles 29:12a). God is in the blessing business. The word ‘bless’ appeared 132 times, ‘blessed’ 285 times, ‘blessings’ 70 times in the Bible.
As His children, blessings are our birth right. In Genesis, we read that God was with Joseph. Genesis 39:2 tells us that Joseph was a successful man. God made all that Joseph did to be a success (Genesis 39:2-5).
God has blessings for you in areas that you cannot even conceive of. His promises are beyond health, wealth, and prosperity.
However, it is not an immunity card against pain and suffering. Jesus said, ‘In this world you will have trouble.’ Jesus also said, ‘But take heart. I have overcome the world.’ Jesus went through struggles, pain and the cross that we may enter eternal life.
And God doesn’t bless disobedience. God doesn’t bless pride or greed or laziness. He blesses our obedience to His Word.
God will bless you that you may bless other. We are blessed to bless.
Winston Churchill said, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ The secret to blessing: The way you get it is by giving; your time, knowledge, skill, and resources.
“Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands--all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you." (Luke :38)
Blessings come forth from our Creator God, not the creation or bees.
