CESS completed an online upgrade for consensus nodes, increasing the frequency of random challenges for storage nodes and adjusting the reward distribution ratio. This update ensures that storage nodes containing user files receive more reward benefits.
Several issues affecting storage nodes were resolved, including the inability to generate idle random challenge proofs under certain conditions, failure to utilize TEE Nodes for accelerated data certification, and rising transaction fees due to repeated failed transactions.
Problems with DeOSS were also addressed, specifically fixing the inability to preview video files online and reducing the high failure rate when uploading user file fragments to storage nodes.
CESS hosted a space where CESS Co-founder, Joe discussed “How Memes are Influence Investments Decisions in Web3 ”, attracting an audience of 2.3k participants.
The CESS testnet has been updated to Venus (v0.7.7) and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Node [v0.7.7]
Completed the online upgrade for consensus nodes, increasing the frequency of random challenges for storage nodes.
Optimized the TEE Node management module, ensuring that invalid TEE Nodes are promptly cleaned up.
Adjusted the reward distribution ratio for random challenges, with idle computing power and inservice computing power rewards now set at 5% and 95%, respectively.
2. Storage Node [v0.7.11]
Fixed issues where idle random challenge proofs could not be generated under specific conditions.
Resolved problems preventing storage nodes from prioritizing custom TEE Nodes for accelerated idle certification.
Fixed an issue where transaction fees increased due to repeated failed transactions.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and CD²N (content decentralized delivery network) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, DeOSS (decentralized object storage services) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, DeShare (online file sharing tool), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this month are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Fixed issues with DeOSS preventing user videos from being played correctly due to inconsistent return status codes.
Addressed high failure rates when uploading user file fragments to storage nodes.
Upgraded the architecture of CESS CD²N caching nodes, enabling basic parallel computing capabilities.
Completed testing and resolved issues related to the distribution of static resources by CESS CD²N caching nodes.
25 days after the Venus (v0.7.7) testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer CESS Scan. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
23 consensus nodes
5,556 storage nodes
10.88 PiB verified storage space
42.11 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
CESS hosted a space where CESS Co-founder, Joe discussed “How Memes are Influence Investments Decisions in Web3 ”. The session featured key industry voices, including YJ from ClusterProtocol, Andy from The Nova Strategy, Jelly from Click Global, and Vikki from Gaga. Attendees gained valuable insights and opportunities in the world of Web3, covering topics such as memes, AI, and DePIN.
