An online upgrade was conducted for the storage network, fixing issues with CESS Node’s mining reward distribution and optimizing TEE Worker key handover and active file preprocessing, leading to improved storage network efficiency.
Several optimizations were made to storage nodes, addressing issues with incomplete tag calculation during file recovery, and fixing commands that were not executing correctly.
Website optimization and upgrades, as well as the development of new features for Blockchain Explorer, were also carried out this week.
CESS has started participating in ETHDenver, which will run until March 3rd. Activities during this period include BUIDLathon, BUIDLWeek, ETHDenver’s Main Event, and Camp BUIDL.
CESS Testnet v0.7.6 was upgraded online to optimize the TEE Worker key handover, Ceseal program upgrade, and service file preprocessing, the program automatically updated to the latest version.
The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
1. Consensus Node [v0.7.7]
Fixed the issue of CESS Node failing to distribute mining rewards to storage nodes.
Completed an online upgrade for CESS Node, increasing the maximum number of penalty times for random challenges.
Optimized TEE Worker handover security mechanism and improved the Ceseal program upgrade process.
Enhanced TEE Worker’s active file preprocessing process, significantly improving data transmission efficiency and stability.
2. Storage Node [v0.7.10]
Fixed the issue of storage nodes failing random challenges due to incomplete tag calculation during file recovery.
Fixed the issue where the storage node was unable to effectively execute the command to add additional staking.
Fixed the issue of the mining reward claim command becoming ineffective.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Blockchain Explorer (Substats):
Implemented the backend parsing of blocks and writing to the database for Substats.
Completed the setup of the Substats backend service framework and routing table configuration.
CESS Website (cess.cloud)
Updated the Events/News page layout and responsive styles, enhancing page display details.
Added a state filtering feature to the Events page, making it easier to query events with specific states.
18 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
18 consensus node
2011 storage node
1.63 PiB verified storage space
14.61 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
From February 23 to March 3, 2024, CESS is participating in ETHDenver, the most significant Web3 innovation festival. CESS showcased how it provides usable DA layer services for the Ethereum ecosystem and is networked with the brightest minds in the blockchain space.

CESS Testnet v0.7.6 has been upgraded, optimizing the TEE Worker key handover mechanism, improving the Ceseal program upgrade process, and refining the service file preprocessing process. These enhancements have significantly increased data transfer efficiency and stability.
CESS’s Q1 has been a whirlwind of activity. Following our announcement of an $8 million Series A funding round, we launched a series of community incentive programs including a testnet and the CESS Community Builders Program. We also conducted a CESS DAO Cloud Mining Campaign, rewarding 50,000 CMs to our early contributors. Up next, we’re hitting the circuit of major industry events, actively engaging with experts and showcasing CESS’s innovative decentralized cloud storage and CDN technology. Stay tuned for more updates!
