CESS Attended the HK Web3 Month Conference: Building the Web3 Data Value Network
The HK Web3 Month, spanning from October 29 to November 18, featured an in-person conference held in Hong Kong from November 6 to 7. The event sought to bring together industry pioneers to delve into the developing Web3 economy in the Asia-Pacific region. Activities like “Polkadot HK Day,” “Ethereum HK Day: Road to DevCon,” and “Polygon HK Day: Ushering Polygon 2.0,” each centred around distinct ecosystems, garnered significant attention and participation from the Web3 industry.CESS (Cumulus ...

Conducted initial code reviews of consensus node modules, drafted README documentation for each pallet, and addressed subtle bugs for safer and more standardized node code.
Introduced new features for storage nodes, including active rejection of invalid user files, displaying the start time for node staking, and optimized transaction sending mechanisms to prevent network-related issues.
Optimized DeOSS file upload process, improved error handling for various exceptional cases, and added user-friendly prompts to enhance overall user experience.
CESS released the 2023 Annual Report.
CESS’s Series A fundraising round received extensive coverage from several media sites.
The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.5 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Miner [v0.7.5]
Fixed RPC node connection issues due to exceeding default connection limits.
Resolved the issue of CESS Node not promptly clearing records of ineffective penalty counts for random challenge failures.
Added a cooldown mechanism for staked fund redemption; storage nodes forcibly removed from the network need a 180-day cooldown period for fund redemption.
Completed documentation for CESS Node pallets such as storage-handler.
2. Storage Miner [v0.7.8]
Fixed the problem of storage nodes not reporting status to the blockchain after completing the tag calculation for active files.
Introduced a feature for storage nodes to actively reject invalid user files to prevent resource wastage.
Updated the storage node ‘stat’ command, displaying information on the starting block height of staking.
Completed the writing and testing of the user manual for deploying multiple storage node containers on a single machine.
Optimized the storage node transaction sending mechanism to actively query on-chain status when the sending result is abnormal.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Added functionality to the go-sdk for querying the staking start time of storage nodes.
Optimized the token verification mechanism in the DeOSS file upload process, improving handling for various exceptional cases.
Introduced file chunk upload and resume functionality for DeOSS to enhance the efficiency and stability of transferring large files.
38 days after the v0.7.5 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
9 consensus node
966 storage node
1.78 PiB verified storage space
5.88 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches.
CESS released the 2023 Annual Report, highlighting innovations in Decentralized Storage and CDN for building a Data Value Network.
