The new testnet version Venus (v0.7.7) has officially launched this week. The new version features several major updates, including optimized idle space proof algorithm calculation speed, upgraded TEE Worker remote authentication, and enhanced DeOSS file transfer mechanisms. We invite you to experience these new features!
Fixed issues causing CESS Node and TEE Worker malfunctions due to some validators running abnormally.
Resolved problems with storage nodes failing to package and run due to SDK version inconsistencies and release conflicts.
CESS Testnet Venus (v0.7.7) has been launched with optimizations and updates for decentralized storage, CD²N, and AI.
The IEEE P3233 “Standard for Blockchain-Based Decentralized Storage Protocol Specification” launch meeting was hosted by CESS
CESS is sponsoring the CollabFest 3.0 event on DMissionZone, offering over $6,000 in rewards, including USDT, NFTs, and tokens, in collaboration with several top projects.
The CESS testnet has been updated to Venus (v0.7.7) and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Node [v0.7.7]
Fixed an issue where the evm-account-mapping pallet was missing due to the CESS testnet version upgrade.
Resolved problems causing the CESS chain to fail to produce blocks due to some CESS Nodes not functioning properly.
Fixed an issue where TEE Workers could not verify block validity after the validator set was changed.
Upgraded the nodeadm program and related configuration files to be compatible with the CESS testnet Venus (v0.7.7) version.
2. Storage Node [v0.7.11]
Fixed an issue where the mineradm multi-node operation program could not configure a specified TEE Worker.
Resolved problems where storage nodes could not start normally due to SDK version mismatches with the CESS chain.
Fixed issues with Docker image packaging failures due to release version conflicts.
CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and CD²N (content decentralized delivery network) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, DeOSS (decentralized object storage services) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, DeShare (online file sharing tool), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this month are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Deployed and launched the new official decentralized DeOSS cluster.
Online File Sharing Tool (DeShare):
Launched the new version of DeShare and migrated old version user files to the new testnet.
CESS Website (cess.network):
Completed the launch of the new official website, user documentation, and token claim services.
4 days after the Venus (v0.7.7) testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer CESS Scan. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
10 consensus nodes
2,856 storage nodes
404.39 TiB verified storage space
17.13 PiB total storage space
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
CESS is all set to launch its latest testnet, Venus (v0.7.7), scheduled on July 31st, 2024, at 8:00 AM (UTC 0). Testnet Venus embodies our continuous journey of building, exploring, and setting the direction for the future of decentralized storage, CD²N, and AI integration. The total reward points available for all storage nodes in CESS Venus is 60,000, which corresponds to 6 million CESS tokens. Detail.

CESS and IEEEorg hosted the IEEE P3233 “Standard for Blockchain-Based Decentralized Storage Protocol Specification” launch meeting on August 30, 2024. The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and innovators to discuss the future impact of this groundbreaking standard on decentralized storage, DePIN, and Web3. The meeting highlighted the importance of establishing robust protocols for the evolving landscape of decentralized technologies.

CESS is sponsoring in the exciting CollabFest 3.0 event on DMissionZone, running from August 01 to August 31, 2024. This event features over $6,000 in rewards, including USDT, NFTs, and tokens. CESS is collaborating with top projects like Roam, DMC Foundation, Network3, Ultimate Digits, Admeal Official, arkreen, Cirus, and Polyflow.PID to make this event a grand success. Participants have the chance to win amazing prizes and experience the thrill of decentralized technology. Don’t miss out!
