Improvements were made to the node reward and penalty mechanisms in the economic model, addressing issues to ensure fairer rewards for nodes in the CESS storage network.

The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.

Fixed node shutdown issues caused by memory recovery errors during idle file generation.
Resolved inconsistencies between idle file node dependencies and TEE Worker calculation results.

By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Optimized DeOSS’s large file resume function, adding legality checks for uploaded data.
Added large file slicing and fragment uploading functions to the go-sdk, compatible with DeOSS’s resume feature.
Optimized the js-sdk with new interface examples to help developers reduce learning costs.
Blockchain Explorer (Substats):
Fixed the issue where the new version of Substats blockchain browser failed to parse transaction error events.

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.
CESS is honoured to participate in a panel alongside PwC and T. Rowe Price at the conference. Co-founder & Network Security Architect Joseph Li shared insights on DePIN’s rapid market growth, attributing it to alignment with market trends and technological decentralization. CESS also joined the DePIN panel, sharing insights on current data privacy and security challenges, and highlighting innovative decentralized storage and CDN solutions. CESS not only participated in panel discussions but also showcased its projects on campus, engaging attendees with demonstrations.
The CESS team participated in LIVE AI Duke and LIVE AI Harvard at Duke and Harvard Universities, experiencing a full in-person hackathon alongside the teams, and took part in onsite judging and the award ceremony. LIVE AI is a dynamic multi-campus hackathon experience taking place at Duke University (LIVE AI Duke) and Harvard University (LIVE AI Harvard), along with an online component (LIVE AI Global), scheduled for March 23–24. Both Duke and Harvard will host full in-person hackathons, fostering creativity and collaboration, while all three locations will be interconnected through engaging speaker panels and interactive activities.

Alongside pioneering projects STARPOWER, GM Network, FutureMoney Group, and Fluence DAO. This event provided a platform for industry leaders to discuss the resurgence of interest in DePin and its potential implications for the Web3 ecosystem.
