Weekly Highlights
Successfully integrated and tested the multi-signature feature, elevating the security of user accounts and data management.
Improved the storage node workflow to maintain user file downloads and facilitate data backup among nodes, reducing the likelihood of inadvertent data loss upon disconnection due to challenge failures.
Presented CESS’s practical applications of ERC-3525 at an event in Singapore.
Conducted a workshop in preparation for the upcoming Winter Polkadot Hackathon.
Project Development Details:
Current testnet: v0.7.4 consists of consensus and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node)and serve as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes provide verifiable storage space and serve as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Miner [v0.7.4]
Completed integration and testing of the CESS Node’s multi-signature functionality.
Upgraded the functionality for user-proxy purchases of storage space, allowing users to customize order expiration times.
Added validation features to various service interfaces for TEE Worker to intercept invalid requests.
Optimized the TEE Worker’s log module for clearer and more concise logs, including the display of service execution times.
Storage Miner [v0.7.5]
Fixed data type conflicts in the protobuf section of the libp2p library.
Upgraded storage node workflows to ensure file download services remain available even when nodes are offline.
Updated gRPC methods in the p2p-go library for communication with TEE Worker, resolving network connection failures.
Resolved issues with the recovery module for storage node idle space proofs failing to read data.
Fixed address resolution failures occurring when storage nodes request idle space proof keys from TEE Worker.
The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions.
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Fixed the issue of signature verification failure when uploading files using the js-sdk.
Resolved compatibility issues between ShareSwap and the p2p-go library.
Testnet
Overview:
9 consensus nodes and 631 storage nodes registered with almost 873.15 TiB effective storage space and 7.41 PiB total storage space within 20 days after the v0.7.4 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.
If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches.
