Weekly Highlights
Tested Consensus Node. Fixed data overflow, inaccurate network power calculation, and task trigger issues.
Implemented illegal request interception for TEE Worker file tag calculation, enhancing security.
Fixed storage node issues: incomplete file tag computation, signature-related authentication failure, and lock occupation causing process blockage.
Attended multiple twitter space events.
Attended India’s premier B2B Blockchain Tech Expo DATE2023
Project Development Details
Current testnet: v0.7.4 consists of consensus and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node)and serve as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes provide verifiable storage space and serve as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.
Consensus Miner [v0.7.4]
Fixed data overflow issues in CESS Node while operating the file Bloom filter (used to record stored user files).
Resolved inaccuracies in network computing power caused by CESS Node errors when handling space lockouts of offline nodes.
Rectified the failure of the file upload process in executing the service file tag calculation routine.
Implemented and optimized the illegal request interception functionality for TEE Worker service file tag calculations.
Upgraded the idle space proof module of TEE Worker to support multi-threaded secure concurrent operations in validation methods.
Resolved space authentication failures caused by incorrect parameter calculations in TEE Worker.
Developed stress testing tools for TEE Worker to identify potential issues under high-pressure scenarios.
Storage Miner [v0.7.5]
Rectified issues with storage nodes failing random challenges due to incomplete service file tag calculations.
Addressed the problem where storage nodes couldn’t authenticate idle space due to inconsistent signature data.
Resolved the problem causing storage nodes to be unable to perform other tasks due to lock occupation in the idle space proof module.
The mission of CESS is to provide Web3 with practical storage services. The product ecosystem of the current CESS network is becoming more robust and prosperous. Innovative applications such as decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage service have been incubated. Users can experience these functions.
Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
Successfully conducted testing for DeOSS ShareSwap functionality, now ready for seamless utilization.
Concluded testing for the new file upload process in DeOSS, ensuring efficient and accurate storage of uploaded files across various storage nodes.
Testnet
Overview:
9 consensus nodes and 792 storage nodes registered with almost 1.15 PiB effective storage space and 4.35 PiB total storage space within 27 days after the v0.7.4 testnet was launched. More details on the blockchain explorer.
If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.
Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches.
