PEPE, DOGE, WIF… are you investing in those?
I’ve never been a big fan of these types of coins. The hype and volatility surrounding them always seemed like a risky gamble to me. But I’ll admit, watching others cash in during these times makes it hard not to feel a twinge of envy. It’s a stark reminder of how emotions can cloud judgment, especially as a newbie in the investment space. I know this reaction reveals my inexperience, but it’s challenging to look past the apparent success stories and not wonder, What if I’m missing out?
Still, I keep reminding myself that it’s unfair—and even dangerous—to focus solely on the benefits without acknowledging the massive risks involved. The reality is, for every person posting about their six-figure windfall, there are countless others quietly taking losses. And it’s usually those cautionary tales that don’t make headlines.
This whole situation reminds me of 2021—a year that felt like a rollercoaster for common investors. Back then, I got caught up in the frenzy of MEME stocks. Everyone seemed to be jumping on board, so I did too, without fully understanding the fundamentals or the risks. In hindsight, it was like playing a high-stakes game of follow-the-leader. But as the dust settled, I learned the hard way what happens when the music stops: I ended up losing 98% of my total investment on a single MEME stock. I won’t name names, but let’s just say it’s a memory I won’t soon forget.
What do you think? Will you take the odds?
