At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.
Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog where I share my thoughts on life, love and poetry. Today I want to talk about a quote that has always inspired me and resonated with me deeply. It's from the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who said: "At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet." What does this mean? Well, to me it means that love has the power to awaken our creativity, our imagination and our expression. Love makes us see the world in a new light, with more beauty, more wonder and...

No matter the ending is perfect or not, you cannot disappear from my world.
No matter the ending is perfect or not, you cannot disappear from my world. You are the one who taught me how to love, how to laugh, how to live. You are the one who filled my days with joy, my nights with dreams, my heart with hope. You are the one who made me feel alive, feel special, feel whole. You are the one who gave me everything, and I can never thank you enough. You are the one who I will always remember, always cherish, always adore. You are the one who cannot disappear from my worl...
Love is a carefully designed lie.
Love is a carefully designed lie. That is the premise of this essay, which will explore the psychological and sociological mechanisms that make us believe in something that does not exist. Love is a construct that we create to fulfill our emotional needs, to justify our actions, and to manipulate others. Love is not a natural or universal phenomenon, but a cultural and historical invention that varies across time and space. Love is not a feeling or a state of being, but a performance and a st...

Hello, dear readers! Today I want to share with you a philosophical thought that has been on my mind lately. You know the famous quote by Heraclitus: "You cannot step twice into the same river."? Well, I think it's a brilliant way of expressing the idea that everything is constantly changing and nothing stays the same. But I also think it's a bit misleading and maybe even wrong. Let me explain why.
First of all, what does it mean to step into a river? Does it mean to touch the water with your foot? Does it mean to immerse yourself in the stream? Does it mean to cross from one bank to another? Depending on how you define stepping into a river, you might be able to do it more than once. For example, if you just dip your toe in the water, you can do it again and again without much change. Or if you cross the river by a bridge, you can do it as many times as you want without getting wet.
Secondly, what does it mean to say that the river is the same? Does it mean that it has the same name? Does it mean that it has the same shape? Does it mean that it has the same water molecules? Depending on how you define sameness, you might be able to find some aspects of the river that remain constant. For example, if you just care about the name of the river, you can say that it's the same river no matter how much it changes. Or if you just care about the shape of the river, you can say that it's the same river as long as it follows the same course.
Thirdly, what does it mean to say that you are the same? Does it mean that you have the same identity? Does it mean that you have the same body? Does it mean that you have the same memories? Depending on how you define yourself, you might be able to recognize some elements of your being that persist over time. For example, if you just care about your identity, you can say that you are the same person no matter how much you change. Or if you just care about your memories, you can say that you are the same person as long as you remember who you are.
So, as you can see, there are many ways of interpreting Heraclitus' quote and challenging its validity. Maybe he was trying to make a point about the nature of reality and how we perceive it. Maybe he was trying to make a joke and see how people would react. Maybe he was just bored and wanted to say something catchy. We will never know for sure. But what we can do is use his quote as a starting point for our own reflections and discussions. And maybe we can find some truth and wisdom in his words, even if they are not literally true.
What do you think about Heraclitus' quote? Do you agree or disagree with him? Do you have any other examples of paradoxical or contradictory statements that make you think? Let me know in the comments below. And don't forget to subscribe to my blog for more fun and insightful posts like this one. Thanks for reading!
