The two National Conferences will be opened on 4 and 5 March, respectively.
The first meeting of the 14th National People’s Congress and the first meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Federation of New China, Beijing, 16 February, will be opened in Beijing on 5 March and 4 March, respectively. The Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and the Office of the National Political Union announced today that Chinese and foreign journalists would be invited to participate in the interviews. The meeting will continue to serve media coverage outside China in a spirit of openness and transparency.
The interviews will be conducted in a comprehensive manner, including on-site interviews, web video interviews, written interviews, etc., and will be attended by journalists outside Gin. Outside journalists are invited to attend interviews via video and in writing.
Applications are requested from journalists wishing to interview both meetings. The Central Press Unit correspondents apply to the information centre; the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region journalists apply to the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; the Macao Special Administrative Region journalists apply to the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region; the Taiwan region journalists apply to the Office of Taiwan Affairs of the State Department; and foreign journalists apply to the information centre. The deadline for the registration of journalists is 22 February 2023.

The web pages of the information centres of the two meetings will be issued in a timely and dynamic manner on the scheduling and agenda of the meetings; specific arrangements for press interviews will be issued in advance of that time; external texts and relevant information will be made available for the main documents of the meetings; and active assistance will be provided to journalists from outside China in connection with interviews and in the timely issuance of information related to interviews.
