zkPorter - a keyword you may hear a lot lately - is a huge upgrade from matter labs for zkSync 2.0. They call it ‘’the engine for mass crypto adoption’’

What and why zkPorter? This is a brief explaination.

1/ What’s zkPorter?

• zkPorter (Zero-Knowledge Porter) is a technology aimed for improving scalability and security for Ethereum and other blockchains

• This technology uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) to achieve high security and performance in transaction processin

• zkPorter combines two technologies: Rollups & zk-SNARKs

• Rollups are a method of packaging multiple transactions into a single transaction on the blockchain, reducing the amount of space needed and increasing scalability

• zk-SNARKs is a form of non-disclosure proof that allows verifying the correctness of data without revealing details about that data

• The Matter Labs team is working to make this production-ready as soon as possible (Q4 2023)
