A new version of Coop Recs is coming - one which combines the best of collectibles with the best of coins.

We've launched 17 songcoins on Coop Recs over the last few months - dropping at least one new coin every Friday.

What we found in that process is that artists are very scared to launch coins, and the way they view them is very different from collectibles which are perceived as much safer and more direct. To this end - we wanted to find a way to fuse the best of both worlds so that we could build an engine which gets more coins to market in an automated way instead of doing more tailored white glove launches with each artist.

To that end - the new version of Coop Recs repositions our collectibles as presales, making it clear that when a presale sells out, a new coin is launched. 25% of the supply is reserved for presale buyers and vested over 30 days with a linear unlock.

We'll be spending today ironing out all the pieces before starting to make a bigger push early next week - but we couldn't be more stoked for this to be out in the open.

For the last few months we've been playing both fields at once, launching a ton of new songs as collectibles while hand curating viral songcoins. While this was a great way to seed the market, we want to create a system that makes it possible for any song to become a coin - but only if there is sufficient demand for it.

Starting as a collectible gives the artist more upfront income prior to a coin going live, and gives buyers a way to prove they were early to songs before the trading begins.
