Everyone's doing their year-end Wrapped lately. LinkedIn hit me up this week showing how much I've been on their platform. They really get retention. Actually found a solid post about it that I'm linking below.
This week I want to reflect on vibecoding and how it's transformed my year. Going back through everything I've shared since last December, I noticed I was obsessed with figuring out which models to use. Would it be Claude? Gemini? Something else? All the platforms improved throughout the year, but the real shift wasn't about picking the right model. It was realizing that coding became more than just building products - it became how I interact with my entire computer. I've got servers running that fetch information and handle tasks for me now. AI fundamentally changed my relationship with technology. What strikes me is how many people haven't noticed this transformation yet, even though it's already reshaping how we work and how technology enters our projects and workspaces. I'll dig deeper into this over the coming weeks while I step back from my computer a bit, but taking this break has shown me just how much has shifted in our industry.
Coursera is combining with Udemy. Big EdTech consolidation happening as AI challenges the old models.
Amazon looking to invest serious money in OpenAI. Keep in mind they already have a significant stake in Anthropic.
Chris Messina wrote a long reflection on his journey as a ChatGPT user and observer.
Really long but really valuable post on Retention. Anyone working in growth or caring about it in their startup should read this.
Solid explainer on transformer architecture and its use in Waymo and Tesla's self-driving systems.
Dyson's rotating farm. Really want to taste those strawberries.
2026 predictions are starting to roll in. Here's A16z's take. Probably going to share more over the next two weeks.
Netflix expanding into retail - Dallas, Philadelphia, and Vegas coming soon. Could definitely use some Netflix at the mall. It's their Disney strategy minus the theme parks. Here's video from the Dallas location.
Telo, a compact electric truck designed right here in the Bay Area by Yves Behar. San Francisco EV innovation.
American Airlines launching the A321XLR on NYC-LAX with Flagship Suites. Major move for premium transcontinental flying.
Hit up the Gemini Tree event post-offsite and saw impressive demos of their MCP server for Google Maps. Some genuinely cool implementations.
San Francisco rapper weighing in on the new mayor's drone spending for city security. Classic SF - tech solutions for urban problems.
Me sentí en México esta semana gracias a Instagram y esta crónica de Bea sobre el concierto masivo de Bad Bunny. Es increíble cómo las redes sociales te conectan con momentos culturales enormes incluso cuando estás a miles de kilómetros.
