Like many in crypto, I love getting free tokens via drops. Certainly had my share of golden ones (UNI, GTC, dYdX, LOOKS, etc.) and flops (Paraswap, WTF).

And like many, I tried to get active on platforms that may have drops, aka airdrop farming. How well did it go? Well, see the Paraswap comment above.

But here’s the irony, it looks like I’ll be getting a good amount of tokens in the OP drop. I did try to farm it by getting active with Optimism. But looking at what I got the tokens for, it turns out they were pretty much all for activity I was already doing in DeFi.

You see, I’m actually pretty interested in the DeFi space and have been fucking around with various platforms already. Just for fun. Just to learn something new and play around with something cool.

And I get rewarded for it, again and again. Especially love public good platforms like Gitcoin, Giveth, the Optimism Collective. I gave and continue to give to Gitcoin grants because it’s a good and fun thing to do. But damn it pays well to do good.

So… fail at farming but success at being legit a good fit for dope drops. Guess the system works.
