StarkWare announced the Cairo roadmap today, and will soon release the new contract syntax together with Starknet alpha v0.12.0. By introducing more structure to the external functions, storage and events of the contract, the probability of bugs can be significantly reduced, thereby helping to protect the protocol Protect from potential hacking and loss of funds. Additionally, Starknet's backwards compatibility guarantees that any contracts deployed on Starknet will continue to function normally and will not be affected by language changes.
