Decentrabodies was created in wake of the Supreme Court overruling of Roe V. Wade. We were distraught by the arrogance and blatant disregard of human rights shown that day. It’s unbelievable and frankly unacceptable that some people now have less rights than even our grandparents had. This, along with the many other injustices across the world being actively ignored by mainstream charities, we knew we had to do something. Web3 was decided to be the platform we would use to raise the voices of the unheard. There are a number of reasons why, including its rapid growth, accessibility, innovation, and our prior experience in the field. The decentralized and privacy focused elements were specifically what drove us to settle on using the Web3. Aspects like these are crucial for a charity that may be forced to work outside the bounds of the law. While we don’t wish to break any law, we first and foremost do the morally right thing, not what is easiest. Freedom is not given, it is fought for and taken.
