To celebrate Decentralized Pictures’ migration to Base – a milestone that unlocks new creative possibilities for artists and storytellers around the world – we launched an award that provides direct support to emerging creators of all disciplines who are building the future of creativity onchain.
The DCP Award for Base Creators is officially closed, and we're thrilled to announce our ten awardees! These creators stood out among the crowd for their bold ideas, distinct voices, and Web3-savvy spirit.
Next step: each awardee will post their project on the Zora.co platform to mint their work directly onchain, creating a verifiable, permanent record of their project for final showcase...stay tuned!
Here are the awardees:

The onchain art IP BizarreBeasts ($BB) expands its surreal illustrated universe into short animated films with original music, bringing its hand-drawn characters, dark humor, and vibrant community to life entirely onchain.

A decade-long investigation into the life of silent film icon Louise Brooks, this documentary by Charlotte reclaims her truth from decades of distortion. It blends film history, feminist legacy, and onchain storytelling.

A breathtaking docu-series following Kyle and Angela, two backcountry guides who trade the frozen wilds of Canada for Panama's lush jungles. The docu-series captures 15 years of off-grid living, survival, and adventure where nature is both home and teacher.

A powerful cross-border co-production between Colombia and the US. Submitted by long-time DCP member Juan Pablo Castiblanco, Darien follows Daniel, a migrant crossing the perilous jungle that connects the two Americas: a story of survival, nature's fury, and the human cost of hope.
We're proud to see DCP creators like Juan Pablo and the team keep pushing forward!

Directed by Umut Vedat, Knots of Trust is the onchain genesis collection for the upcoming feature Tie Me (k)Not. It transforms intimate moments of surrender into collectible art. Each NFT explores trust, control, and connection, marking a bold fusion of film, identity, and blockchain storytelling.

Created by Lisa Danilkovych and Eva Muilerman of Motion Dames Productions, The Fragmentation continues their experimental trilogy exploring womanhood, memory, and liberation. Following The Motion, this next chapter dives into earth as a symbol of rebirth, where chaos, performance, and survival collide in a haunting cycle of play and resistance.

Created by Garance, The Solars is a vast transmedia sci-fi universe spanning art, literature, blockchain, and film, imagining a "protopia" where creativity and connection shape the future. Rooted in the principles of decentralized harmony, it invites audiences to explore worlds where technology and nature evolve together toward enlightenment.

A moving original score inspired by Gabriel García Márquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude, blending melancholy and magic of Colombian coastal sounds. Rooted in cumbia, porro, and the spirit of Macondo, the work captures that "bittersweet sound" of joy and sorrow. A sonic reflection of García Márquez's magical realism.

Told across England and Nigeria, In The Night I Dream follows Àdá, a young woman whose visions blur the line between dream and reality. Rooted in African spirituality, the film explores ancestry, fear, and awakening as Àdá must embrace her inherited power to protect her family, and herself.

Inspired by true events from Chicago's western suburbs, Blueberry Muffin Baby is a darkly funny, coming-of-age story about friendship, sex, and the messy gray space between love and consequence.
Beyond its raw storytelling, Sack's curiosity about DCP's onchain model reflects exactly what this space was made for: creators eager to explore new ways to fund, share, and connect through storytellers.
Each creator will share their project on Zora.co, where creators can mint their work directly onchain for the world to view, collect, and trade.
For DCP, this means the creative process isn't hidden behind closed doors: it's transparent, public, and owned by creators themselves.
Have questions about how Zora works? Reach out to us at socials@decentralized.pictures! We're here to help break the barriers to entry, not add more, so reach out! ;)
