Season 2 Launch
gm Season 2 🌞 February 1 kicks off the next iteration of Developer DAO and hopes to bring with it a more streamlined member experience, more frequent community events and more stable teams to deliver them. First though, let’s take a moment to reintroduce D_D.A Brief HistoryDeveloper DAO is about 16 months young. Still, in crypto years, that's old enough to get a Lambo license. The origin story, including Nader's live-streamed genesis NFT deployment, is captured here. Since that lau...
Hello Web3 World
My hope is to have the story of Developer DAO told through the voices of its many members from all over the globe. My version of the story is no more important than any other, but we’ve got to start somewhere. So, here it goes. I’ve watched DAOs from the sidelines for years. Happily, I missed the boat on “The DAO” - one of the first large-scale attempts to democratize governance over publicly invested funds. In 2016, this project failed spectacularly after a hacker drained the smart contract ...

Today, we are proud to officially announce our partnership with the powerful web3 platform, Coinvise.
And in addition to this, we’re also excited to launch Developer DAO’s very first meme contest!
Well, there’s a few reasons.
Firstly, memes are just good fun! And it’s important to be playful and enjoy ourselves. Fun is healthy!
Secondly, this is a celebration of Developer DAO’s $CODE token launch – and we wanted to celebrate with the wider web3 community.
But perhaps more importantly — with the launch of our token, we are addressing something that has been a huge priority for us in the DAO: Access.
The initial Genesis nft collection has a total supply of 8,000 nft’s. And there were no parameters set at the smart-contract level, that limits the number of nfts a single wallet can hold. A fun fact for those who didn’t know: the Genesis nft smart contract was forked (from Loot) on a livestream by Developer DAO’s founder, Nader Dabit. How cool!
Developer DAO’s roots are truly organic, and a testament to the open-source culture that is prevalent across various parts of web3. But for the reasons cited above (total supply and lack of wallet restrictions), this resulted in unforeseen limitations on the number of people who could join our community in the past.
So over the past 9 months, and across various parts of Developer DAO, we’ve been looking at addressing access in a range of ways. We’ve narrowed them down to a few key areas:
We currently have an alpha version running, of a Scholarships initiative that Nader created. This is gradually being overhauled, and we are building out additional ways to pull people into the DAO, via a Fellowships pathway. We’re also looking to partner with tech and web3-based organizations that have a mission focused on underrepresented groups. The long-term view here, is to create a suite of distinct pathways into Developer DAO, that cater to different contexts.
We will provide more updates around these exciting opportunities, as time progresses.
So if you’re an organization that fits the description above, or you’re a web3 protocol that is interested in partnering at the infrastructure-level under our Fellowships program — please reach out to us via DM (AxisOne).
Other ways that we are looking at addressing access, is by exploring public quests and tasks, and fun activities such as this meme contest.
And this is where we are seeing a lot of the initial value in our partnership with Coinvise — with features such as their airdrop functionality. We believe that they can provide us with a tool that can empower Developer DAO to realize its aspirations towards providing greater (and more meaningful) access to our community. And it can do so in ways that are fun, playful, and as frictionless as possible.

This contest will not be our last — so be sure to get involved!
