Season 2 Launch
gm Season 2 🌞 February 1 kicks off the next iteration of Developer DAO and hopes to bring with it a more streamlined member experience, more frequent community events and more stable teams to deliver them. First though, let’s take a moment to reintroduce D_D.A Brief HistoryDeveloper DAO is about 16 months young. Still, in crypto years, that's old enough to get a Lambo license. The origin story, including Nader's live-streamed genesis NFT deployment, is captured here. Since that lau...
Hello Web3 World
My hope is to have the story of Developer DAO told through the voices of its many members from all over the globe. My version of the story is no more important than any other, but we’ve got to start somewhere. So, here it goes. I’ve watched DAOs from the sidelines for years. Happily, I missed the boat on “The DAO” - one of the first large-scale attempts to democratize governance over publicly invested funds. In 2016, this project failed spectacularly after a hacker drained the smart contract ...

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Aptos Foundation.
In the build-up to the Aptos Foundation’s $500K CodeCollision Hackathon in August, we’re launching a program of education and incentives for the community throughout July and beyond.
Meta initially created the Move programming language for its Diem project as a secure and reliable way to build smart contracts.
Aptos blockchain engineers enhanced Move with the Move Prover for formal verification, full gas coverage, and robust security protocols. Aptos developers benefit from comprehensive tools such as built-in unit testing, detailed coverage reporting, IDE plugins, and features like on-chain data storage, native sponsored transactions, and versatile token standards, making it a secure and efficient platform for blockchain development.
Aptos is a Layer 1 community-driven network built on top of these innovations. Governed by the people building on it, Aptos has one of the fastest-growing non-EVM developer ecosystems, making it an ideal home for creating your big idea or developing your career.
To kick things off, we’re hosting an X space this week to discuss the Aptos network, its ecosystem, the upcoming CodeCollision hackathon, and our partnership plans with the Aptos Foundation.
During July and August, we’re hosting members of the Aptos ecosystem for a workshop series to support a $10,000 writing contest with 20 chances to win. Our two first-place prizes include up to $3,000 in follow-up funding to produce technical content for Move on Aptos with support from our editor-in-chief, Kay.
It is an ideal opportunity for any budding content creator or DevRel looking to grow their career and builders to get ready to ship for the $500k CodeCollision Hackathon in August.
As mentioned, we’re kicking off an X space with Greg Nazario, Founding Engineer at Aptos Labs, tomorrow, Wednesday, @ 3:30 pm UTC. Join us to learn more, ask questions, and get the alpha for our writing contest.
In the meantime, sign up for the CodeCollision Hackathon, turn on Developer DAO’s X account notifications, and register for our writing competition here.
Let’s build the future together as friends.
