doormat
In case you haven't heard, doormat is an MPC-powered trading platform for the pvp era of crypto. When we thought about how to finish off 2024 on a high note, we decided a trading competition was the perfect thing to spend our time and money on. Best of all, it coincided with the doormat tv finale and functioned as a high-intensity user testing session. Let's get into how it went!
We focused on matching folks who had high interest and some experience trading to keep things fair.
Team Stingray: brian (founder, unlonely) and kristina (content/pageant queen)
Team Slop: rohan (founder, slop father) and linda (twitter queen)
Team Shark: natasha (founder, boys club) and trevor (founder, doormat)
All teams started with $1000 in a fresh doormat account and had 3 hours to turn it into as much money as possible. There were a few rules like….but other than that it was choose your own adventure and try not to waste any time. The result was chaos at a scale our office had never seen before. There was shit talking, definitely some bullying, and certainly some copy trading.
Not one team consistently made trades that had them taking a profit, so it became a competition of who could lose the least amount of money.
As was foretold by our commentator / crypto livestream expert Grace (founder, unlonely), rohan and linda from Team Slop made a huge comeback and beat Team Shark by a narrow ______. Everyone got to keep their winnings* and the winning team got a $333 bonus (because $3k, 3 hours, 3 teams…idk we just like the number 3).
brian, kristina, rohan, linda, and natasha for agreeing to compete and bringing incredible energy. our office manager for letting us host and not freaking out about confetti cannons, brian felix for production and editing support, pedro for the enthusiam and merch support, abe for the developer support, and brenner for being an unofficial commentator and on-call quant.
