Chia seeds have gained popularity around the world as a superfood, and many Urdu-speaking people are also exploring their health benefits. In Urdu, chia seeds in Urdu are commonly known as "Tukhmalanga" (تخم ملنگا) or sometimes referred to as “Chia Beej” (چیا بیج). These tiny black or white seeds come from the Salvia Hispanica plant, native to Central America.
1. High in Fiber (فائبر سے بھرپور):
Chia seeds are excellent for digestion and keeping you full longer. Just a spoonful can give you a good amount of fiber, which helps regulate bowel movements.
2. Aids in Weight Loss (وزن کم کرنے میں مددگار):
When soaked in water, chia seeds expand and form a gel-like consistency. This helps reduce appetite, making it easier to control food intake.
3. Rich in Omega-3 (اومیگا 3 سے بھرپور):
Chia seeds are a plant-based source of Omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health and reduce inflammation.
4. Packed with Antioxidants (اینٹی آکسیڈنٹس سے بھرپور):
These tiny seeds fight oxidative stress and keep your cells healthy.
5. Boosts Energy (توانائی میں اضافہ):
In traditional Urdu-speaking households, chia seeds are sometimes added to drinks like Rooh Afza or lemonade during hot summer months to stay hydrated and energized.
Soak 1-2 teaspoons of chia seeds in water for 30 minutes and add to:
Lemon water
Milk or yogurt
Smoothies
Desserts or puddings
You can also sprinkle dry chia seeds over cereals, salads, or oatmeal.
Chia seeds, or تخم ملنگا, are more than just a trend—they are a nutritional powerhouse. Including them in your daily diet can improve your overall health in many ways. Whether you're speaking English or Urdu, one thing is clear: Chia seeds are amazing for your body!
