The magazine has been a bit quiet lately, truth be told I’ve been focusing a lot of my time on a new project with John Ferguson / Meta Belfast, it’s called the Meta Comedy Club

Meta Comedy Club is a NFTWorld powered events and community space. It all started with a cup of coffee and a conversation a couple of months ago when I met John on Twitter through Drop Magazine. John is a Belfast based entrepreneur and NFT lover, with a long history in start-ups & event management. I am a Belfast based Solution Architect who moonlights as the Editor-In-Chief for an NFT magazine. So we did what any degens would do and decided to meet up in real-life to talk about NFTs!

At the time the full potential of the NFTWorld Ecosystem was still unravelling, I even wrote about the project in Drop Magazine when the floor price was 1Ξ. Today NFTWorlds is a giant and new play to earn projects are spinning up every day in the hopes they can offer holders a fun experience to earn $WRLD.

Let’s be honest though, most NFT gaming projects are cash grabs, often they don’t even exist and are just selling a dream, a promise that they will deliver something fun but rarely do. Everybody seems to be completely focused on reproducing and rebranding video game classics but in reality NFTWorlds provides an opportunity for much more innovative and unique ideas, enter Meta Comedy Club.

Our initial vision for Meta Comedy Club was to build a world where anybody could jump in and attend fun events, gigs and meetups. We’ve been talking to professional comedians and community leaders in the NFT space for months now, refining our idea bit by bit and slowly building a project that we think offers a ton of value for holders, and even the wider NFT community.

We want anybody to be able to join our world and have fun, we’re working with various NFT communities to host meetups and events inside of our club, we have a list of professional, amateur and arm-chair comedians ready to get up on the stage and tell some jokes, we even have VIP areas and all-inclusive access for genesis members.

We’ve been working with some very talented world builders to embed various NFT and Discord integrations into our world such as audio-pockets, NFT verification, $WRLD ticketing systems and more:

We want holders of our Genesis Membership Pass (5000 in total) to be able get into the club for free, and access any area as the ultimate VIPs of the experiences we curate. We want to make it accessible for everyone, and that’s why we’re introducing a ticketing system where users can attend professional events/gigs by spending $WRLD for a ticket, the proceeds for which in turn will go to the comedians, event organisers and genesis pass holders to incentivise wider community engagement and participation.

We’re also designing the space to be brand agnostic, meaning we can rent our comedy club out to other NFT projects or real world companies, allowing those projects to add their own branding and style. Thanks to NFTWorlds it’s very easy for us to do this, and we’re able to quickly revert back to our flagship comedy world whenever we are not renting it out. Ultimately providing further opportunity to distribute proceeds back to holders.
