Ever wondered what if someone made Pokemons and threw in awesome guns, explosions and bullets?
Say hi to Palworld.
Blockbuster video games often come with colossal budgets, but not for Palworld.
GTA 6 costs more than a billion dollars to make and took 11 years.
Palworld needed only $7M and made more than $200M already.
The meteoric rise of Palworld is very interesting.

This indie game, whimsically dubbed “Pokémon with Guns,” has taken the gaming community by storm.
Apparently people love blasting and shooting cute animals with guns.
Actually, who doesn’t like that?
But there are some questions and controversies, some of which border on the absurd.
Let’s explore.
Developed by Japanese indie outfit Pocket Pair, Palworld is an action-adventure survival game that’s captured the imagination of millions.

Its appeal lies in its blatant — and somewhat controversial — resemblance to Pokémon, coupled with an unexpected twist of gunplay.
This has ignited debates among Nintendo fans and they might face legal troubles.
The gameplay is a a blended experience of Pokémon, Fortnite, The Legend of Zelda, and Minecraft.
Some love it, others don’t.
Its a video game, what did you expect?

With a modest budget of around $7 million, it has grossed an estimated $200 million, selling over 8 million copies on Steam in just one week.
Amidst the humor and hype, “Palworld” treads a precarious legal line.
Its creatures, eerily similar to Pokémon, have raised eyebrows and prompted discussions about the legality of such design choices.
I mean, there are definitely some resemblances.
While Nintendo remains tight-lipped, experts suggest that “Palworld” may just skirt around legal issues, thanks to the nuances of intellectual property law.

The game’s astronomical player count, peaking at 1.8 million concurrent users on Steam, might actually not hold out for long.
Latest reports indicates that people are dropping out after the first weeks of testing.
See how tough it is in the gaming world?
People will come in and take it for a test run, but for them to stay and play, that is a whole nother problem.
Indie games, once seen as underdogs, are now capable of rivaling, and even surpassing, AAA titles in terms of popularity and revenue.

I like that the underdogs and indie game developers actually have a shot at the big leagues.
It provide competition, adds more value to the market and gives fans what they want.
Just because a game is new, doesn’t mean it can’t be great.
Just look at Black Myth.
They finally decided to work on Wukong, the Monkey God, seriously and the initial gameplay and trailers were superbly astounding.

I don’t even play video games and I am excited for it!
Don’t believe me?
go watch the trailers.
It is like a Hollywood blockbuster with a spin on Chinese Ancient mythology.
I’m getting shudders just writing about it.
