It’s well known that in feudal Japan, the populace banded together around a warlord to train as Samurai so they could fight with pride. So what's it like to be a Samurai? A Samurai must practice sword skills and be diligent in all of his tasks and battles. Will Samurai Legends provide us a slice of what it was like to live during these times
Samurai Legends is a Samurai-themed metaverse built on BSC Network. There are two-interconnected games, though only one is available currently and you can play it freely by minting their free character, unfortunately, there is a determined season when you can mint or recruit. The game was launched in Q4 2021 and is currently playable on browsers.
Dual-token system is used in this metaverse. $SMG (governance) & $KUKO (utility and primary in-game reward). What I like about $KUKO is that its value is stable because it is adjusted according to the value of $SMG by their system called Daikokuten. So, if you want to earn, just buy an NFT, then start playing the game by doing missions, partaking in battles, and selling on marketplace. Do not wish for a large profit as this game is not something you can hope to milk from because of token’s low value and limited earning reward capped by energy, but when the second and third games are out, then you’ll most likely earn enough from a day of playing.
Samurai Rising is out and it’s a turn-based card game just like the mechanism in Axie Infinity. But here, you are able to equip different types of combat units, not just a Samurai, but a healer and support such as a monk, priest, and ninja which is kind of cool because of its uniqueness to the mentioned NFT game. It also means that there is power or energy to consider for spending before you make an attack using cards.
The second game which is Samurai Land will be a land where it is like an open-world but in hexagonal tile style. Think of it as a Clash of Clans but open-world where you can see other players camp and socialize & trade with them. You can create buildings and barracks to produce resources and combatants using some $KOKU. Samurai Land will also accommodate Samurai Rising so if players go into combat while exploring the tile world, then they will go to the battle mode of Samurai Rising. A nice transition from a separate game into an integrated game.
Samurai Rising can definitely give the vibe of a Samurai to some extent. It’s not an amazing Samurai game like controlling a Samurai in a third- or first-person perspective for you to slash and do some tasks, however, the game’s ingenuity to still provide an exciting strategy and combat game in terms of Samurai can still be felt by playing it. Not the samurai game I was looking to play, but a turn-based Samurai-themed card game.
