Space travel is undoubtedly breathtaking. Many people have always wanted to see what it's like to live and play there. Thus, development of space games and space simulator games began to give us a taste. They illustrate and demonstrate what might happen if space life was real. The same is true with Space Misfits, which is filled with breathtaking views of planets. Prepare to board as you may be left behind.
Space Misfits is a play-to-earn, 3D open-world, sci-fi MMORPG built on the Enjin blockchain network. Players must engage in battle in the stars and on the planet's surface to gather necessary resources as countless worlds await exploration and colonization.
Each planet is distinct and depicted with incredible graphic detail. The game is currently live, but still being developed to improve the quality of experience. It’s also F2P and playable on PC. It'd be nice if they port it to mobile so more users can easily try it out in the future.
There are 2 tokens: CROWN – being both governance and a cryptocurrency, and BITS, for in-game purposes. The former is also used for in-game purposes but only rewarded to skilled players in particular. With two types of tokens, it should help in controlling the value.
Players are encouraged to increase their earnings by utilizing the player marketplace to sell or trade the items they have acquired from a planet or other areas across the whole universe. It’s required to either own or rent a hangar; serving as both the place to store your personal things and provides the ability to sell them onto the marketplace.
From what they’ve shared so far, Space Misfits appears to be a mashup of Eve Online for its sim-like third-person navigation, No Man's Sky for its incredible space exploration, and Planetside 2 for its gigantic battles. Overall, if you've played any of these games, you'll have no trouble finding your way through Space Misfits. Offering various modes from commanding spacecraft to a third person & first-person shooter with RPG mechanics. There’s clearly no shortage of varied gameplay. Players will embark on a journey, whether that is where they become miners that sell resources they’ve gathered from asteroids or Hunters who battle against enemies to secure loot. It’s up to you, but for me, I like how I can fly in a spaceship and explore the stars.
The journey is dynamic and nonlinear since the season in which the game is played affects the story, leading to no set end point. For instance, although you must complete different missions in season 1, in season 2 it’s cooperative-focused, supplying its own set of unique missions to accomplish. Bringing you one step closer to unraveling its main enigma as the season progresses and experiences are gathered. It’ll be interesting to see what the players will achieve with that kind of setup.
The game's visuals have a sort of neon-shaded look. What was showcased in the teaser was stunning. You can feel the vivid appeal created by the atmosphere and colors of planets while the graphics during flight are more reminiscent of past space shooters such as Angels Fall First, Fractured Space, Evaspace, etc.
I can tell from my experience that this game is a promising NFT endeavor. Players will have the opportunity to experience exciting environments and original scenarios that come with being in space. Fun game modes make it enjoyable as you keep an eye out for new upgrades. With that said, I hope that they actually release a mobile version so it’s available to everyone. Overall, I think this game will be capable of providing the experience of living out life in space that so few will ever get to enjoy.
