Agora are considering ways to unlock ENS Delegations held by Coinbase to increase governance participation—proposed solutions include an upgrade to the ENS Governor followed by a delegate race.
The Ecosystem Working Group strengthens the ENS Protocol by facilitating developer relations, identifying and funding high-potential projects that enhance ENS, and supporting ENS-aligned initiatives.
ENS Labs is actively advancing development across key areas. Minor updates to the L2 reverse registry smart contracts are ongoing, with continued work on refining the overall design. Progress on ENSv2, also known as Namechain, remains steady as efforts focus on smart contract development and a reimagined manager app. Additionally, a front-end redesign of the manager app is in progress, which includes improvements such as an enhanced dark modeexperience. NameStone takes a developer-focused approach to issuing ENS subnames on Layer 2 networks. Their new product, Durin, enables onchain L2 subname issuance in approximately 7 minutes using modifiable templates. Currently, NameStone supports deployments on 5 Sepolia chains and Base mainnet, with plans to expand further. To date, the platform has achieved 80 deployments and registered 280 names. Work on Hooks is progressing, with further updates expected next week. In response to Vitalik’s tweet about the “perfect wallet,” the team is also developing a new ENSIP proposal, ENSIP-TBD-8.md. This proposal establishes a standard for specifying a priority list of coinTypes through the use of an ENS text record, improving wallet functionality and user experience.

The calldata security verification for EP 5.25 confirmed that calldata matched the proposal’s expected description regarding USDC and ENS transfer operations. This process involved simulating the proposal’s lifecycle—proposing, passing, executing, and verifying state changes post-transfer. Testing guidance was provided, allowing developers to validate calldata alignment with proposal objectives on-chain. The final step confirmed that on-chain calldata would reflect the tested state accurately, giving approval for on-chain submission.
The calldata verification for EP 5.26 focused on transferring 30,000 ENS tokens from the DAO treasury to the Meta-gov WG wallet. The simulation and testing verified that the proposal’s description was matched accurately in the calldata. The verification process included proposing, passing, and executing the operations, ensuring the end-state aligned with the intended ENS transfer. Testing steps were provided for developers to confirm the on-chain calldata consistency.
Following the resignation of Alex Van de Sande, a special election was held to fill the Meta-Governance steward vacancy. The candidates were:

The ENSIP GitHub repository continued to focus on ENSIP0, with an emphasis on formalizing standards for contributors and specifying editor responsibilities. Efforts were made to establish a priority list for onchain coin types. Considerations are underway for approaching Labs to formalize a process that includes assigning administrative permissions to nominated ENSIP editors. The Gitcoin round successfully met its $10k donation goal, attracting 2,000 unique contributors. Funds are scheduled for payout after Devcon. The round operated smoothly, demonstrating notable improvements over previous rounds.
