In anticipation of the holiday of Sukkot, the Sukkies outside our windows were masticating all day today, taking up most of the parking lot. The construction workers weren't too hard on themselves, and were periodically running around, laughing and dumbfounded on their phones. Apparently they didn't finish everything and will continue tomorrow 🤣

"Sukkies" are the kind of shack houses you can see in the pictures. During the holiday of Sukkot, which lasts for 7 days, it is prescribed to spend as much time as possible in them, to pray, study Torah, eat and if possible to spend the night. They build them necessarily in an open area, so that there are no other sheds, except for the roof covered with branches, through which the stars should be visible at night. All this is prescribed in the Torah in the form of commandments in memory of the wandering of the Jews in the desert after leaving Egypt 🤓 So that they do not forget where they had to live... 🤦‍♂️

So there are active preparations going on all over the city and Sukkies are growing like mushrooms 🤷‍♂️🤣
