“Congratulations! You’re eligible to claim $100,000! Just visit SHIBOS.VIP...”
“You’ve received a 700M $SHIB Airdrop Voucher! Connect your wallet now to get rich!”
If these banners look familiar, congratulations—you’re already deeper in Web3 than most people ever get. But STOP! Before you let curiosity guide your clicks, it’s time for a journey through the digital minefield of NFT fraud—and why your Eye of Unity membership is only valuable if you keep your wallet safe.
Scammers have evolved. What you see in that screenshot above—dozens of airdrop “vouchers” and enticing “SHIBA” tokens—are not gifts, contests, or secret rewards. They are a new breed of weapons designed to separate you from your hard-earned crypto.
OpenSea and your wallet dApps are being flooded with spam NFTs, airdropped unasked-for, often promising huge claims if you visit their flashy URLs. Let’s break down why these exist:
They are NOT rare digital art.
You did NOT win a contest.
Their value is always a lie.
Visiting their sites is a direct shot into a scammer’s den.
Fake “vouchers” or “rewards” with huge dollar signs.
Websites in all-caps domains (e.g., SHIBOS.VIP, ETHNA.VIP, SHIBAW.COM).
“Airdrop,” “Claim Now,” “You are eligible” language designed to press your “I want free money” button.
Let’s say—for science—you click a link like SHIBOS.VIP. The website knows two things:
Your NFT wallet address (since you received the airdrop).
You might just be greedy, curious, or new.
They prompt you to connect your wallet. Maybe sign a “claim” or “withdrawal” transaction. Suddenly…
You have approved them to drain your wallet.
You connect your wallet. (That’s always the first step in taking control.)
They show you a convincing, but fake, “prize claim” screen.
You sign a transaction—probably a malicious one. That single signature can give them permission to MOVE or DRAIN your tokens/NFTs!
You refresh. Your crypto/NFTs are GONE.
Want to see stories of what happens? Read this real report from Ledger Academy.Or check Etherscan’s warnings about airdrop scams.
Relax: The presence of scam NFTs in your wallet ALONE does not hurt you.
You do NOT click their links.
You do NOT connect your wallet to websites advertised on scam NFTs.
You do NOT try to “claim” or “sell” the scam airdrop elsewhere.
You are NOT safe IF you interact with it in any way other than hiding or ignoring.
Low Cost, High Reward: Minting these junk NFTs costs pennies. Phishing even a single victim can net thousands.
Everyone’s Address Is Public: Your wallet is like your email address on a public forum. Anyone can send you stuff—helpful or not.
Curiosity, Excitement, and FOMO: Nearly every sophisticated crypto scam relies on you thinking you’re about to win big or miss out.
“But I’m Web3-savvy, I would never fall for that!”Everyone says this, until they don’t.
2021: Spam tokens just bloated your wallet.
2022: Scam NFTs started pushing links and requests for you to “connect your wallet.”
2023–2025: Scammers now airdrop NFTs that:
Brand themselves like big projects ($SHIB, $USDT, $ETH “vouchers”)
Use high-priced “rewards” to grab your attention
Sometimes implement clever tactics (approve infinite token spending, exploit wallet connect popups, or harvest wallet info)
**1. Never connect your wallet to ANY site promoted by a random airdrop or NFT.**If you see “claim at” with a sketchy .vip/.com, RUN.
**2. Don’t be seduced by “free money.”**If someone’s giving away $100,000 with zero friction… ask: why YOU?
**3. Hide but NEVER interact.**Use your wallet or OpenSea to hide spam NFTs. Don’t try to sell, move, or “claim.” In 99.9% of cases, your gas money is better spent elsewhere.
**4. Use a “burner” wallet for experiments.**If you must try things out, NEVER use your main wallet. Create a fresh one, move tiny funds only, and use that for high-risk interactions.
**5. Stay updated and alert.**Follow communities like r/EtherScamDB, OpenSea Trust & Safety, and Chainabuse.
If you get a weird airdrop:
Don’t panic, don’t interact.
Screenshot and warn your friends—spread education, not fear.
See an unfamiliar NFT or offer?
Google the collection plus “scam” to see others’ reviews.
You accidentally clicked or signed?
Move your funds to a fresh wallet immediately.
Use Revoke.cash to remove dangerous approvals.
If in doubt, ask.
Bring your questions or screenshots to the Eye of Unity Discord/Telegram community.
We’re stronger together.
**Q: Can viewing these NFTs infect my wallet?**A: No. Just viewing or holding them is harmless.
**Q: Can I turn them into real money?**A: No, and trying to do so could trigger a scam.
**Q: Are “burn addresses” a solution?**A: You can send unwanted NFTs to a burn address (0x000...dead), but it will cost you gas. Hiding is safer and free.
**Q: Are hardware wallets safe from these?**A: Hardware wallets protect you ONLY IF you verify everything you sign. Never confirm a mystery transaction, no matter what device you use.
“One click, all my USDT was gone!”
“I connected my MetaMask to claim a free NFT, then my Punks were stolen.”
The next time you see an NFT that says “CLAIM $100,000!”, channel your inner Eye of Unity wisdom:
If it’s too good to be true, it is.
“Connecting” doesn’t feel dangerous—until the moment it’s too late.
Your wallet is your vault. Guard it with the vigilance of an ancient sentinel.
